Piano Lessons For All Levels & Ages | Explore, Learn, Achieve

I teach beginning and advanced aspiring pianists of all ages (3+) with a focus on immersing students in the magical world of music and getting the best possible quality out of them by challenging to achieve more than assumed possible. Music is a soul-enriching experience and developing musical skills can be a great gift for a lifetime.

With solo piano performance degrees from the Royal Academy of Music (London) and the Universität der Künste (Berlin) I am a highly qualified award-winning concert pianist with almost 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for education. My musical learning was also furthered by postgraduate musicological studies at Royal Holloway and serious interests in philosophy, religions, history, civilization, literature, poetry, law, languages as well as many other things. I loved my musical journey which included not only piano but also composition, the violin, recorder, flute, harpsichord and clavichord from childhood onwards. In the last two decades, teaching has been giving meaning to my life and I enjoy helping others to find fulfillment as well as joy in their learning.

My teaching approach is comprehensive, builds up confidence and incorporates a multidisciplinary orientation thanks to which students get promptly enthused over their learning. There is a focus on enhancing musical understanding, developing or improving reading skills, building up technique, expanding repertoire in a healthy way and foundationally preventing or sorting out injuries as well as pain-related problems. Although my teaching style is primarily quality-oriented with regards to skills, I believe that happiness, confidence, results and a sane sense of achievement are important components to balance in holistic education and offer a non-judgemental, patient, kind, equality-oriented, multicultural environment in which learning can thrive.

I encourage students to perform in concerts, festivals, exams and competitions. Many have won prizes in numerous competitions and passed exams with distinctions. Others have improved their technical skills as well as understanding of music, thus opening more doors and finding professional opportunities in the world of music.

About Me

Natalia was born into a family of musicians in Russia and received her first piano lessons from her mother, continuing with Valentina Nikiforova, a student of Olga Kalantarova who was the assistant of Anna Yessipova. At the age of eight she began playing on stage and had a solo performance in the Glinka Chapel in St Petersburg three years later. In 1995 the family emigrated to Germany and Natalia became a pupil of Prof. Conrad Hansen in Hamburg. In 2000 she entered the University of Arts in Berlin to study with Prof. Pascal Devoyon and graduated with a Diplom (BMus) in solo piano performance.

Natalia has lived in London since 2006, where she continued her studies in piano with Piers Lane and Kathryn Stott as well as harpsichord with Virginia Black and clavichord with Terence Charlston on the MMus programme at the Royal Academy of Music. She has taken part in masterclasses with Dang Thai Son, Rainer Becker, Christopher Elton, Felix Gottlieb, Stanislav Pochekin, Oxana Yablonskaya, Sir Peter Maxwell-Davies, Bernard d’Ascoli, Victor Rosenbaum, Kenneth Gilbert, Julian Jacobson and Stephen Savage and has also had lessons with Lilya Silberstein, Hartmut Rohde, Daniel Hoexter, Michael Dussek and Michael Roll.

Natalia has won prizes at several competitions including the Hastings Centenary Festival International Piano Concerto Competition where she won the first and the Sir Philip Ledger Prize in 2007. She has also been the recipient of the Oscar und Vera Ritter Scholarship, the Paul Hindemith Scholarship, the Myra Hess Award and the Sir Richard Stapley Educational Trust Award.

Natalia has given soloist and chamber music performances in the Musikhalle in Hamburg, the Summer Festival Sommerfestspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Philharmonie Berlin performing a Mozart Concerto, the Warehouse in London playing with the Manson Ensemble, the Messiaen South Bank Festival 2008 in London and she also appeared in St. John’s Smith Square playing the Schumann Concerto in November 2007. She is constantly expanding her repertoire, exploring contemporary music with interest, working in different chamber music groups and is also pursuing her interest in musicology which lead her to completing another masters in historical musicology at Royal Holloway University of London.

Natalia has been giving piano lessons in London and Berlin since 2003. She has been teaching children and adult pupils and has experience of preparing students for concerts, exams, auditions and piano competitions.

Natalia also pursued a range of other interests such as Baroque music theory, composition, playing the violin, recorder and flute, languages, literature, photography, religions, philosophy, poetry, law and baking.

Piano lessons at home - all ages / all levels
Hello, my name is Lara and I am a 20 year old French girl studying (classical) piano at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the heart of London. I offer private piano lessons at home (in French or in English) for people of all ages and all levels (beginners / intermediates / advanced), specializing more particularly in classical music. I can, however, adjust the program to suit the student's personal interests. Having already had experience in teaching, with children and adults, I know how to listen to the individual needs of my students, aiming to achieve their goal but above all to give them the pleasure of doing music! Feel free to contact me for more information.

Tamara
Teaching Music and Basic Music Theory for children
Music is a valuable skill that aids learning in other fields too. I would teach basic music theory, and children's music, introducing basic music concepts. I have also attended a music conservatoire from Sept 2016- Aug 2021, playing the cello, and so can teach this for grades 1-3.

Eduard

Violin Lessons Online for children and adults - learn for fun or for exams
I am a violinist and traveling teacher. I have played the violin for many years in several orchestras. The violin rep to me is the most amazing beautiful sounds that have been created. I love to teach students from the very beginning to help them achieve a good technique and musical ear. The first few lessons are so important to understand how the body works with the violin in order to achieve a beautiful tone and musicality later down the line. I also cater for exams with ABRSM and trinity exam boards I have currently moved to London to continue my studies of the violin with Fabienne Fauritte. My teaching style depends on how the student learns and I will adapt to their needs in order to help them achieve their potential.

Giorgia
Piano lessons - music theory and harmony - for any level
I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age. I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. Starting from that point I teach the position of the hand, the arm and the whole body at the piano, the fundamentals of the piano technique (giving great importance to the percussive movement of the finger and the distribution of weight), the understanding of musical language, the expression of the personality through the keyboard, the search for touch and knowledge of piano repertoire.

The lessons can be conducted in English 🇬🇧, Spanish 🇪🇸 , or Italian 🇮🇹 , ensuring accessibility for all students. Age and musical preferences are not limitations; with qualitative daily practice, rather than sheer quantity, progress can be swiftly observed. 💪🏼 🎶 My approach to classical guitar lessons is centered on tailoring them to each student's individual needs and potential. I prioritize fostering enthusiasm and motivation as primary tools for conveying technical and theoretical concepts, alongside a deep love for music. Lessons are open to students of all ages and skill levels. 🚀 The focus of the course revolves around the joy of playing music. This expands the instrument's capabilities and your playing skills, ensuring continuous progress and improvement. 👨🏻‍🏫 Upon request, the program also includes theoretical studies, which are presented in an accessible manner suitable for both beginners and experienced musicians. Exercises, pieces, and theoretical explanations are structured in a progressive order of difficulty.🔥 The theoretical program covers a range of topics, including guitar tuning, chord theory, scales and modes, finger picking techniques, strumming patterns, metronome practice, learning favorite songs, improvisation, harmony, melody, and rhythm theory.⚡️ Together, we'll embark on a musical journey tailored to your goals and aspirations, ensuring a fulfilling and enriching experience with the classical guitar.🔝☄️

Private guitar lessons for every level: from basic chords to out of the box improvisation
Hey! My name is Richard and I give private lessons to all levels. For guitar, it is important that you can improve yourself in a pleasant environment in a fun way where your interests are central. Do you want to delve deeper into a certain style? Do you want to create your own sound on your guitar using amps, and pedals, ...? I can help you with all that! Knowledge of solfège or music theory is not required, we can always discuss this in class if you wish, but that is certainly not mandatory ;) I have been playing the guitar since I was 9 years old and for several years now I have been playing in professional bands with which I have been able to play on sugar rock, for example. The lessons would take place at my home in Mol or via webcam. If necessary, we can always agree on something else. Be sure to let me know if you have any questions and I will answer as soon as possible. See you soon! Richard PS: my specified hours are a guideline, if this does not suit you, you can certainly send us a message and we will try to arrange something :)
