I enjoy teaching both harp and flute at my studio in Worthing and also offer lessons online. I studied at The Royal Academy of Music, London graduating with a first-class Master's degree and an LRAM music teaching qualification. Learning an instrument is a very rewarding and enjoyable experience and I teach students of all ages and abilities from complete beginner to advanced levels. Music theory will be integrated into the lessons and you will have the opportunity to take part in performances and work towards graded exams if you wish to do so or just play for fun! Each lesson will be tailored to the individual pupil’s needs, level, and style. I teach a wide variety of musical styles including Classical, Celtic, Pop, Jazz, and more!

I love teaching piano and violin and have taught many students, adults and children, beginners to advanced. I have also taught children and adults with learning disabilities. Each lesson is tailored to each individual and pupils can learn to play through classic/rock/pop music. Lessons are fun they also include improvisation and music quizzes and music theory. Grades may also be worked towards and taken if pupil wishes and all my pupils have achieved merits or distinctions. I have played violin for shows in provincial theatres and in the Millitaire Orchestra at Mansion House, Guildhall, Tower of London and The Painted Hall in Greenwich and also played in various quartets for weddings. I have a PA system and play an electric violin for weddings and functions playing pop or classical music. I have also taken a year's course in introduction to Music Therapy which was a very interesting course and am currently studying for Certificate for Music Educators.

I am an experienced German teacher, who taught for the last 5 years online and 1 to 1 lessons for a language centre (Brighton) The lessons are individually tailored, we will work on all 4 skills: speaking, writing, listening and reading. Lessons will be tailored around your individual language needs. We work usually with a book from A1 - C1 and then with media (news articles and materials/videos from the internet). Lessons will be a mixture of reading texts and then answering questions or discussing the topic, listening exercises and free speaking. You also can read books (easy reader) or bring your own materials to the lessons. I teach grammar in context with texts, not independently. But students will develop in time a concept of the various elements in a sentence (pronoun, verb, preposition, adjective, noun, adverb etc) and get a clear picture of sentence structure (main and subordinate clauses and placement of verbs). Still, the main focus will be on conversation, students will immerse in the fascinating world of German words and expressions, doing role plays and practicing day to day situations. Developing not only their language skills but also their fantasy and improvisation skills.

Classically trained to Grade 8 on the Piano and regularly working with artists in a Recording Studio environment, I'm offering exciting lessons in Piano, Music Production and Composition for ages 11+. **Enhanced DBS Certificate** Each component can be taught separately (e.g you may simply be interested in Piano lessons) or I can provide a complete course which takes students from an introduction to Piano through to Production and eventually being able to Compose, Produce and Release their own music. Whichever you choose, the emphasis is on fun lessons which provide practical skills equipping students in the real world. - Piano is taught on an upright acoustic - Music Production is taught using Pro Tools (The industry standard), Native Instruments and a MIDI controller keyboard - Students are also able to record vocals within their projects if they wish Due to my label and agency ownership, I am also able to provide insight into the Music industry including areas such as Music for TV, Film and Advertising which may be useful for GCSE/A-Level Music students.

My name is Lucy and I live in West Sussex. I am fascinated by languages and communication and I have gained a wealth of experience in teaching and learning French, Spanish and English. In 2013 I achieved my Level 5 Trinity College London Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I have have 8 years of classroom and private tutoring experience. My expertise is grammar: I am very skilled in this area having spent a lot of time studying. I have also gained plenty of experience in helping students with their speaking and listening skills. I am qualified to teach adults and teenagers, and have also gained experience in providing foreign primary school children with an introduction to the English language. In 2017 I graduated with a 2:1 in French and Hispanic studies. In my third year at University I studied and worked abroad in Paris and Madrid. In Paris I was the English teacher of a small private school and I was in charge of designing the curriculum, teaching all the lessons, and creating an end of term assessment. In Madrid I was self employed and privately tutored several students with lessons tailored to their requirements. For example, one student wanted to improve conversation skills for her job as she was required to communicate with clients in the UK, so we focused on business conversation skills in English. In June 2020 I will qualify as a Secondary Teacher of French and Spanish, teaching up to A level (Key Stage 5). I am currently on a SCITT PGCE course (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) which means I have been in the classroom since September gaining plenty of experience teaching the languages. Before beginning my ITT (Initial Teacher Training) year, I completed a 6 month Subject Knowledge Enhancer which involved studying the different modules of the GCSE and A level syllabuses and preparing a presentation on teaching each module to a class. This course has helped me understand exactly what is expected of the students during Key Stages 4 and 5 and I received excellent feedback on my achievements. I like to ask the students what they would like to learn from my lessons. What are their goals. I think it's really important to be on the same page, so we can work in the same direction together and it makes things easier. I can adapt easily to different kind of teachings. People are different and they don't always have the same way to learn. I can start from the basics (learning how to pronounce the letters right, feminine and masculine of words, grammar, verbs, etc.) I can only teach oral lessons if is what the person wants. I like working with a lot of examples and visuals.

Learn to speak English like the English do. As a Dutch person, you are often quickly recognizable by your accent and incorrect use of words, expressions, etc. By speaking 'native English' you can often get something done faster, you are accepted faster and in the USA you often have an advantage if you speak 'Queen's English'. I have been living in the UK for 25 years and in the early years I experienced how difficult it is to really get through to the English if you do not speak the language at their level. You remain a 'foreigner' and therefore an outsider. As a Dutch person, you quickly think that you speak English well. The English that is taught in the Netherlands is outdated and is often taught by university graduates who have never spent more than a few months in an English-speaking environment, so they have never picked up the real spoken language. You don't really learn a language from a book, you have to experience it or learn it from someone who knows the finer points. I am a professional translator, a member of the NGTV, TEFL certified and have an international business background.
