Hi there, I am an opera singer and piano teacher with 20 years of piano experience. I have also worked as a piano and singing teacher at a music school and have extensive experience from numerous opera and music projects. If you want to learn to play the piano, I'll be happy to help you. In my many years as a piano teacher, I've taught students aged 5 to 40. I place great value on solid technique, finger exercises and the development of musical expression. We work on repertoire from classical music as well as film music. For children, I have prepared many simplified notes from these areas and design the lessons with varied and playful exercises. I also encourage learning to read music, ear training and improvisation. Everybody can sing! In my classes I will guide you to find your own voice, through vocal exercises and movements, self-perception and listening. I am a trained opera singer with 12 years of teaching experience as a choir conductor and vocal coach, and I continue to perform on the operatic and concert stage. The focus of this class is to learn healthy singing techniques which include breathing, support, posture, and vocalisation, I am happy to work with lyric, classical/pop and musical theatre repertoire - the fundamental techniques of singing are the same and we will be working towards establishing a good foundation so that you can understand your own instrument better. The language of instruction will be mainly in English, but I am experienced in singing in English, German, Italian and French, so don't feel restricted by way of language as well.
