Hi there! Have you always wanted to learn the flute or do you feel like picking up this beautiful instrument again after a break? As a teacher with more than 6 years of experience, I offer private lessons for all ages and all levels. I learned my teaching skills from famous flute teachers of our time. I have experience teaching both children and adults and I think it is essential that we both have fun while learning something as wonderful as playing music! Lessons are adapted to your needs and we will develop your musicality and technical skills together. In addition to Classical music, we can also work on other music styles if necessary. For example, I am familiar with Brazilian folk music, Baroque music, Modern Music and Jazz. It is also possible to request academic support with the instrument, music theory or history. Lessons can be given in English and Dutch. Hello! I'm Nina, a drummer from Amsterdam. I am currently studying Drums at the Amsterdam Conservatory (Pop Department). I play in multiple bands and various session projects, including 45ACIDBABIES and Anna Joan + more. I work a lot with Hybrid Drums (SPD and triggers) and also teach Ableton. I love many different music styles, so you've come to the right place for any genre! The studio is located in the Q-Factory in Amsterdam with two professional drum kits and sound system. If all this is too far or for some other reason not reachable, lessons at home and / or online are also possible! We can work on, among other things: - Hand technique (how do I hold my sticks? Or which stick technique do I use for different music styles?) - Creativity (how can I eventually make cool drum parts myself? Or parts other than the ones you would initially come up with?) - Improvisation (lots of playing and trying!) - Timing, playing along with songs (with click tracks), how can I become more playful with the click? - Relaxed posture - Drum notation (learning to read drum notes) - New fills, grooves and beats - Sound (how do I tune my drums? which drum sound do I want for different types of music?) - Hybrid drums (working with samples on the SPD and/or triggers) in combination with Ableton. Sound is a word with a broad meaning. In these classes we will focus on listening sessions and sound composition/improvisation. At first, we will exercise the art of listening (natural and artificial/man made sounds). Later on we will try to make sound compositions and improvisations manually and on computer programs (optional). Listening is a powerful tool for daily awareness. Listening to your surrounding, means being aware of other things and entities that exist around you, which adds on to a deeper understanding of oneself and one’s environment. Through a selection of music, sounds and a series of exercises, I will guide you through a journey of listening to yourself and your surrounding.

My life is percussion: I play it, I teach it, I design percussion and I develop techniques for it. The basic course takes you through all the elements you need to professionally write and produce music; with specialties ranging from record production to writing for media i.e. T.V and film. I have more than 30 years in the music industry, previously working at BBC Radio 1/1xtra station, and also at Jools Holland's Helicon Mountain studios in West London. Folk or classical acoustic guitar. The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation. For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...). For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...). Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques.
