Whether you want to sing for fun, be coached through the ABRSM graded singing exams, or brush up your understanding of music through theory lessons, don't hesitate to get in touch. Singing Ethos: My belief is that everyone can learn to sing when taught properly and holistically and can experience the joy of discovering the unique qualities of their individual voice. This is a joy which I share with my students and why I find teaching so rewarding. My experience is predominantly (but not exclusively) with children and I love to watch as their love for their voice grows. What you can expect: I believe it is important to teach with an emphasis on technique and vocal health, so from the first few lessons students learn about the body and the way the voice works. I address this through exercises and breathing techniques as well as songs appropriate to age and stage; (usually based around the appropriate ABRSM Grades). I strive to create a fun, nurturing environment where learning and confidence can be optimised. I currently study with Sophie Grimmer, a highly respected and accomplished vocal teacher based in London who has performed at venues across Europe and London such as ENO. Therefore everything I teach my own students is informed by the world class tuition I am lucky enough to receive, (but of course adjusted so that it is age appropriate). This ensures that the tuition I give is always current and reflects the ever evolving industry standards for vocal tuition. I look forward to hearing from you! (Please don't be put off if below availability doesn't work, as this can be negotiated).

I am a professional classical singer and teacher based in Catford. With over ten years of experience, I am passionate about teaching singing at any level, from absolute beginners to more advanced performers who are considering a career in the world of music and performing arts. I studied for 6 years at the Royal College of Music, London both as an undergraduate and Masters student. I graduated with Distinction in July 2017 and since then have kept myself busy working as a performer and teacher. For the last ten years I have been teaching both on a one to one basis and in group sessions. As well as teaching private pupils of all ages, I have worked as a vocal coach for various theatre companies, for performing arts centres such as Stagecoach and also as a peripatetic singing teacher in various schools. I feel delighted to be able to work with aspiring singers of all ages, backgrounds and experience, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching at every level. I believe that singing is wonderful for the soul and a fantastic way to engage your mind and body. It’s so exciting for me as a teacher to help a student along on their music journey and to see them unlock their potential. Music is a powerful force and there is honestly nothing better than seeing the positive impact it has on people. I encourage my students to maintain a goal; something to work towards whether it’s finally getting up and singing at an open mic, preparing for an exam, auditioning for a production or putting on a recital! I believe that everyone has a voice and that nobody should ever feel discouraged from making it heard and I pledge as a teacher to help each pupil discover their own identity within the world of song. As an accomplished pianist I also accompany my students in their lessons. I strive to help singers who want to improve their singing technique, prepare for an audition or performance, be a more confident performer, expand their repertoire or just sing for pleasure and to have fun! I believe that firmness and fairness is key to helping a pupil along the way and that a down to earth 'can do' attitude from both teacher and pupil can make all the difference. I have a piano at home and prefer to accompany my students in their lessons so please take this into consideration if you do not have access to a piano at home!
