Students will be guided through the exact methods used in established Savile Row tailoring houses, with a strong emphasis on hand craftsmanship, structure, and precision. The course focuses on building a garment using traditional canvassed construction, teaching students how each component works together to create balance, durability, and the distinctive Savile Row silhouette. Attention is given not only to technique, but also to developing an understanding of why each step is performed, allowing students to produce garments to a professional bespoke standard. This class is suitable for those with basic sewing knowledge as well as tailors looking to refine their making skills to true Savile Row bespoke standards. What Will Be Taught 1. As a classically trained artist in drawing and painting, I offer private tutoring that emphasizes mastering the fundamentals to develop accomplished, technically skilled artists who can confidently express their creativity. My approach is structured, rigorous, and designed to push students to achieve their best. While some may find my method strict, I believe in teaching the rules thoroughly so that you can confidently break them later. What I Offer: Foundational Skills: Strengthen your abilities in line work, value, proportion, perspective, and texture to build a robust technical base. Composition & Framing: Understand how to structure engaging artwork through thoughtful layout, balance, and spatial design. Rigorous Critique: Receive honest, constructive feedback to identify areas for growth and refine your individual hand. I also highly recommend my student take excellent notes during my demonstrations and instruction time. I will always share my own notes and sketch journals so the student has a goal in mind. After a section of tuition has been completed (equal to a half term) I examine the notes and give feedback. Trusted teacher: I am an RCA MA Painting graduate, and I have a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Westminster University, and a Foundation diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. I am a practicing artist based in London, specializing in painting, and I have been showing my work nationally and internationally. My recent solo show was at Class Reiss London, and I also had a solo presentation at Art Athina. My fascination with tutoring derives from my sensitivity around learning disabilities, something which is a recurring theme in my practice as I grew up as a dyslexic learner, as well as my educational experience of being part of leading academic UK institutions.   Through my work as an art tutor I strive to inspire and support my students, offering insight to my experience as a RCA alumnus and to the professional life of an artist. I teach students of all ages, as I strongly believe that involvement with the arts is always eye opening and revealing, especially when this leads to a career in the arts through higher education. I can offer art lessons for younger children, involving introduction to creative techniques and idea development, mentoring and support with portfolio preparation to apply for art schools internationally  as well as tutoring on contextualizing your work through constructive and generative feedback.
