Trusted teacher: I am a UCL Biological Sciences student seeking to offer a highly personalised tutoring experience that caters to my students' needs. I currently teach from Year 7 upwards with a speciality in exam preparation. I teach Geography, RS, Physics, and English from Years 7-11, and Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry from Years 7-13. I aim to understand my tutees' unique concerns and explain concepts simply with many alternative approaches. As someone who has experienced obstacles to my own learning, I have a lot of empathy for students struggling with their learning, particularly those with learning differences and endeavour to develop an approach that works for them. I was a strong student in secondary school (Queen’s College, London) achieving A*s and As (and equivalents) at GCSE and three As at A-Level in Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Particularly of note, I received a 9 in GCSE Mathematics, 98% in GCSE Religious Studies, and was awarded a sixth-form academic scholarship. I am an experienced tutor - I participated in a tutoring scheme in secondary school which allowed students from Year 7 to Year 12 to ask any questions they might be struggling with in any subject they wished. This allowed me to continue to engage with my GCSE content during my A-Level years and taught me how to listen to and understand the particular needs of each student at a given moment. I also tutored family and friends of family, allowing me to engage personally with my students and develop a specialised teaching approach. I offer one hour and two hour sessions and am free on weekends, after 5pm, and whenever my university timetable permits. I am generally free at all times outside of university term time.

Trusted teacher: For the past 7 years, I have tutored 80+ IB Biology and Chemistry students online up to date, and hundreds of students face-to-face. They have all achieved top grades (levels 6 and 7 only), and many of my tutees have gone on to study Medicine, Dentistry and Natural Sciences at top universities in the world (University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, UCL, Imperial College, King's College...). I, myself, have studied Master of Pharmacy at UCL (MPharm) and Graduate Medicine at University of Cambridge (MB BChir). For every exam period, I take up approximately 10 students to teach online. Every student that I tutored from last year's batch (May 2019 exam) received 7s (from Bio and Chem when I tutored them the subject). I teach students in groups of 2 or 3s at my house in London. Moreover, I also teach crash courses of IB Biology and IB Chemistry before the final exams in April time. If you're interested in normal tutoring lessons, I will help you understand any IB Chemistry or Biology concepts in an easy manner. I have taught the International Baccalaureate Chemistry and Biology programmes for 7 years, and am aware of the ins and outs of the curriculum. If you're interested in assistance and support in writing Internal Assessments or Extended Essay for Chemistry and/or Biology, I can help you achieve top marks - all the students I helped received 7s. With the vast amount of resources, past papers and experience that I have accumulated, I'm looking forward to helping you achieve a 7 (or at least a 6!). Anyone can do it with the right guidance.

Certainly! Chemistry and biology are two fundamental scientific disciplines that are closely intertwined and play a crucial role in the education of students. From a chemistry perspective, students will delve into the study of matter, its properties, and the interactions that occur at the atomic and molecular level. They will learn about the periodic table of elements, chemical bonding, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics. These concepts form the foundation for understanding the behavior of substances and the driving forces behind chemical processes. Students will engage in hands-on experiments, simulations, and problem-solving activities to apply their knowledge and develop their analytical thinking skills. In the realm of biology, students will explore the intricate and fascinating world of living organisms. They will study the structure and function of cells, the diversity of life, the mechanisms of evolution, and the complex systems that sustain living beings. Topics such as genetics, ecology, and physiology will be covered, allowing students to understand the fundamental principles that govern the living world. The integration of chemistry and biology in the curriculum is crucial, as these disciplines often intersect and complement each other. For instance, students will learn about the chemical processes underlying biological phenomena, such as photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and the structure and function of biomolecules like proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. Through engaging lectures, interactive laboratories, and problem-based learning activities, students will develop a deep understanding of the scientific principles that govern the natural world. They will hone their critical thinking, problem-solving, and experimental design skills, preparing them for further studies in science-related fields or a wide range of career paths. The synergy between chemistry and biology provides students with a holistic perspective on the natural sciences, enabling them to appreciate the complexity and interconnectedness of the living and non-living components of our world. This knowledge will empower them to make informed decisions, contribute to scientific advancements, and tackle the challenges facing our society.
