I teach primary school children from Year 2 upwards in Maths, English and in preparation for SATs in Year 6. My resources are all current and up to date and relevant in today’s National Curriculum specification. I have full access to the topics to be covered in each year group in Maths and am happy to mirror and match that which is being completed termly at school as well as focusing on more challenging topics. Each lesson will begin with Arithmetic questions for fluency. Reading comprehensions and grammar will be taught according to what is required for each year group and finally with a focus on spelling, punctuation and grammar practise papers as will be completed during SATs. I cover a variety of comprehension style questions that are inline with SATs and will cover all the skills required including word meaning, retrieval and inference questions across non fiction, fiction and poetry examples. Literacy and Numeracy skills can be challenging for pupils to acquire, whether this is decoding/ spelling for pupils with Dyslexia; comprehending aspects of language for pupils with Autism or maths related anxiety for pupils suffering with poor academic self-esteem, these sessions will improve the necessary skills to build a strong foundation and supporting progress in academia and development of other skills needed on a daily basis. Learning should always be fun! Skills can be developed through honing in on interests and making learning relatable to real-life incorporating games and quizzes to not only improve literacy and numeracy but working, visual and auditory memory skills as well as supporting metacognitive skills (independence and organisation) Focussing on developing skills with high repetition and low stakes testing to increase ability and confidence. I am a qualified and practicing SENDCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) in a secondary provision responsible for designing and implementing successful interventions to improve these skills. I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Science and over 15 years of experience working with young people with special educational needs, with a genuine passion for teaching and supporting individuals learn and grow.

Hello, I specialise in tutoring for the 11+,13+ and SATs. I passed all exams and now I am in a top-achieving grammar school. I can help tell you what to look for and what not to. My goal is to keep students challenged but not overwhelmed, I believe that my lessons are fun but challenging. On the first week, we will be starting with Non-Verbal Reasoning and in the second lesson, we will do a recap. We will be doing that series for at least 5 weeks, and we will do a recap exam of all the Non-Verbal learnt to see how much you have learnt. We will do the same for Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.
