This class is designed for students from kindergarten through year 5 who find the fundamentals of math difficult to understand. Around year two, students begin to make the jump from learning to count to actually making numbers. This course will help students navigate this jump as we will understand how numbers are composed and how they grow. We will identify patterns, breaking numbers apart and reassembling them in new configurations. This course is designed to slow down the learning process and use play to understand the inner-workings of math. Conceptual math moves away from memorization and instead engages the ideas behind addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division so that the student can forge and deeper and longer lasting connection to arithmetic.

As the level of the courses increases over the years, taking advantage of a young student who has experience as a versatile private teacher is often a major asset to perform and then fly to great studies! First of all, when am I available? From September 2020, until 2023 if follow-up over several years is desired. What is my experience in private lessons? I have been giving private lessons for 5 years now. Throughout the last 3 years 2017-2020, I followed 2 students of the French Lycée Charles de Gaulle: a student from 5th to 3rd and a student from 2nd to 12th, at a rate of 2 and 3 hours per week respectively. Maths is a highly useful skill in all areas of life as well as most fields of industry. Maths has been a passion of mine since my school days where I managed to achieve an A at A-level in one year.
