Trusted teacher: I have been playing the violin and piano for over 20 years now, graduating in 2015 from the Royal College of Music with a first-class bachelor's degree in violin performance, and have recently started an Advanced Diploma in Performance at the Royal Academy of Music. I have performed extensively all over the UK as a soloist, most notably as a strings finalist on BBC young musician of the year, and at the Battle Proms concert series to audiences of up to 12,000. I've also delved into the Folk world a little and was on tv for the BBC Radio 2 folk awards as part of Jim Moray's band! I started officially teaching at 17, coaching local teachers more advanced students. From there I became Professor Berent Korfker's private assistant at 18, teaching his younger students from the Purcell School and alike. Being able to work with such talented students was extremely inspiring and excited me to start my own class with complete beginners on both violin and piano. I now have a hugely mixed class in both ability and age (4 to over 50!) with a 100% pass rate in their exams. My approach has always depended on the student's age, ability, and character. For younger students, I incorporate games, with them often wondering how the lessons finished so quickly! I like to create a fun environment for musical development where questions are encouraged, and all students are taught how to teach themselves and apply techniques learned in the lesson to the practice room.

Trusted teacher: I have instructed students of different age groups in saxophone performance and music theory (including counterpoint, harmony and composition) up until university level, in Spain and the UK. After graduating from Cambridge with a double starred first, taking into consideration my academic results and teaching experience, I have also been selected for inclusion in the Supervisor Registry to teach counterpoint and harmony papers. My approach to lessons is very flexible, and I always try to adapt to the needs and qualities of each student. I believe that communication is essential, and at the beginning of each lesson I ask my students if they found my recommendations from the previous lesson helpful and how they see their progress. After this spoken introduction, we proceed to work on some warm-up and technical exercises. Then, we play some studies and pieces, or go over some music theory exercises, trying to apply the advice from the previous lesson and make further improvements. Finally, we conclude the lesson with a summary, listing the main key points and suggestions and comparing our experience to the previous lessons, trying to find a clear sense of progression and a coherent line of work towards a certain goal. This teleological mindset occupies a central position in my methodology, and I always encourage my students to look ahead and plan a series of stimulating events or challenges to look foward to, such as a concert, a recital, a presentation or an exam.

I am a young engineer with a recent double degree from the Ecole Centrale de Lyon and the Technical University of Denmark in general engineering and civil engineering, and I suggest you follow your children throughout the year to provide them with the basics , methods and in-depth studies that teachers do not always have the time to give to students. Having myself recently completed a scientific baccalaureate and a scientific preparatory class at the Lycée Saint Louis in Paris, I know the paths and states of mind (positive as well as negative!) of the students, and will help them progress effectively with kindness, good humor and patience. I have several years of experience in private lessons at all levels, including one in London, and have thus acquired teaching skills and knowledge of science programs from middle school to high school (including the new program). Including lead roles in The Mikado, Pilates of Penzance, Iolanthe and HMS Pinafore with the International Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company, The Merry Widow, Babes in Arms, Out Of Of This World, Free As Air, Cinderella and Peter Pan to name a few. Alongside my career I’ve taught singing and acting with RNCM Youth Perform, Enfield Music Service, Bolton Music Service, Artis, Stage Coach and privately at many schools, colleges, and performing schools across the country. Helping students achieve their personal goals as well as desired results in ABRSM, Trinity, LAMDA, GCSE and A Level exams. I specialise in developing vocal and performance technique especially in the genres of musical theatre and classical singing but love teaching all music genres.
