Hello! I am a clarinetist who graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. I offer private ONLINE lessons. For beginners, intermediate and advanced students. Experience teaching for the past 8 years, with children and adults, individual and group lessons. With professional projection or amateur.

If you want to go to a conservatory, I can also help you with my experience preparing for the auditions.

About Me

Mijn naam is Santiago, maar je kunt me Santi noemen, ik kom uit Salamanca (Spanje). Na een paar jaar een Master in Muziek te hebben gestudeerd aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen, besloot ik om in Antwerpen te blijven om les te geven en freelancen.

Mijn ervaring met lesgeven in de afgelopen jaren gaat van kinderen tot volwassenen, professioneel en amateur. Over het algemeen iedereen die in muziek geïnteresseerd is. We kunnen de inhoud en de methode aanpassen.

Ik heb ervaring met spelen in orkesten, kamermuziek, maar ook met improviseren, het spelen van verschillende genres zoals jazz, elektronische muziek, folk ...

Eerste studies in Salamanca, bij Edgar Willems Pedagogiek aan de Sirinx Music School. Graad in geschiedenis en muziekwetenschap aan de universiteit van Salamanca. Bachelor in muziek aan het Superior Conservatorium van Badajoz. Master of Music aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen bij Annelien van Wauwe.
Momenteel vul ik mijn opleiding aan met een studie oude muziek bij Benjamin Dieltjens en een master muzikaal onderzoek.

A former scholar at the Royal College of Music London, sponsored by The Kenneth and Violet Scott Award, I earned a degree in Piano Performance under the tutelage of Nigel Clayton, Peter Jablonski and Ruth Nye. I was also a recipient of Talent Development Scholarship awarded by the Hong Kong Government Scholarship Scheme.

Started learning the piano at the age of 4, I won numerous prizes in different competitions including Asia Piano Open Competition, TOYAMA Asian Youth Music Competition, Inter-School International Performance Challenge and Hong Kong Schools Music Festivals. In 2018, I was also one of the finalists in the Liszt Memorial Prizes Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition.

I am offering online theory lessons. Whether you are preparing for the ABRSM Gr. 5 theory exams or you would like to deepen your knowledge by proceeding to further grades, I am happy to help and guide you through them effectively and efficiently!

<Why learn online?>
Unlike instrumental lessons, learning music theory online does not have any disadvantages. Using zoom, students can learn via shared screen and white board just like face-to-face lessons. Why not save your weekly travel time as well!

I am a concert pianist and a piano teacher native to Japan but I also enjoy teaching music theory very much as I strongly believe understanding of Music Theory can aid your principal instrument playing enormously!
I have been a head of Music Theory Department in a music academy in HK as well as a senior Piano Instructor for the past years. About the teacher:
First, Professional. Holding a Master in Music post-graduate degree, the teacher has been teaching piano lessons professionally for 17 years. She has a solid theoretical foundation in music teaching, composition, and piano performance.
Second, a kind attitude with patience, as well as proper pedagogy for different levels of students. She has taught students who easily pass ABRSM grade 8. She also possesses excellent patience with young kids under the age of six. During the last ten years, her goal has been to solve an important issue: how to make students interested in piano playing. Learning to play the cello can be a tremendously rewarding hobby, but the cost of lessons often puts it out of reach for many. As an accomplished 15-year-old0 cellist, I’m planning to change that narrative by offering high-quality instruction at a relatively affordable price.

My systematic approach guides students through the fundamentals, from proper bow hold to tuning techniques. I will teach with proven methods like the StringBuilder and Suzuki books, ensuring a solid technical foundation while preserving the inherent fun of the instrument.

With over 7 years of cello experience and a ABRSM Grade 8 Distinction, I possess a deep understanding of the instrument and the ABRSM examination process(and have lots of tips for effective practicing!). I would like to teach students up to Grade 6 ABRSM and work as a coach to help students prepare for their upcoming ABRSM exams(if they desperately need any help). In fact, I am having the honor of performing at the prestigious Carnegie Recital Hall in New York City this summer.
