I'm an Irish guitarist with twenty years of musical experience, including as a rhythm guitarist in several bands. I offer guitar lessons for beginner and intermediate players. For beginners, I'll focus on basic chord structures, strumming patterns, and simple fingerpicking techniques. For the intermediate player, I offer more advanced fingerstyle tutorials in a range of styles, covering songs by Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, Elizabeth Cotten, John Prine, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and Big Bill Broonzy, among others. I also offer beginner piano lessons, covering a selection of simple classical pieces (Grieg, Bach, Beethoven) as well as some non-classical tunes (Tom Waits, Vulfpeck, etc).

Learning music and especially guitar can open your personality to a whole new world of emotions, knowledge and communication in such a unique way that only music can offer. After teaching for more than 25 years i can guarantee your improvement and your in depth knowledge of the technique and theory behind the particular instrument.

I am an all around guitar player and that's my philosophy as a teacher. All genres of music can contribute to build your own style. I was born and raised in Athens, Greece. I started learning classical guitar when I was 15 when I was already performing live with school bands, singing and playing the guitar and drums. After school, I took electric guitar lessons, film scoring lessons and Jazz Arrangement. I have collaborated with many popular musicians, singers and bands in the Greek music scene over the years, playing live and on tour, as well as in the studio. I also compose original music for TV and radio commercials, theatrical plays, and have been a guitar tutor at many music schools. As a performer, composer and tutor I draw from across the musical spectrum – from Byzantine music and composition studies to rock/jazz and traditional music. I try to break down boundaries between genres, experiencing music as an unlimited soundscape. In 2014 I released my first solo album called “Portokali”

My aim is to help beginners discover and learn the rudiments of musical training, to deepen their knowledge of it for those who are initiated and to perfect it for those who are more advanced, according to the wishes of the student. I successfully prepared the students with their Piano Exams like ABRSM, Trinity Grade, from grade 1-8, with merits and distinctions, and more advanced exams as well (Performance Diplomas). I teach for the Enjoyment of Music as well. I believe you can learn to play the piano at any age. My oldest student is over 75 years old and my youngest one has 3 years old. They made great progress, I am sure you could do the same. I've never met anyone who didn't have musical abilities! You can be a serious or a recreational player. The only requirement is the willingness to spend some time at the piano. I conduct my lessons using a combination of 4 cameras for optimum visibility, and a quality microphone which my students find very helpful. This allows them to see a very clear visual demonstration alongside my verbal explanation. I can confidently say that Online Lessons are the same as In-Person Lessons. CURRICULUM I do not believe one method works for all students. I have used many different lesson books and resources over the years. For beginners I like to use Alfred method books for basics concepts and for Classical and Jazz Piano technique I like to use ABRSM books (grade 1-8). If my student feels that they can learn better from another books, I am glad to adapt my teaching strategies to their needs. Along with the lesson books below, I use a lot of supplemental materials based on the students' interests. I also aim to teach their favorite songs as soon as possible. I like to clearly explain and demonstrate piano technique. In this way, the students are able to apply the information on similar passages from all genres of music. My name is Denise and I'm a professional singer with a singing master's degree from Catalonia's Music College (ESMUC) specialized in Historical Singing, Musicology and Music Education. My experience runs mostly in early and chamber music, nevertheless I also have the experience and knowledge of popular musical styles such as Latin-American folk, jazz and musicals. As a docent or vocal coach I've collaborated with different academic institutions and private artistic projects, focusing mostly on international students or social integration programs. My main goal is to help the student discover her or his voice while enjoying making music. No experience is needed, just bring your enthusiasm and favorite music. Classes can be given either in English, Spanish, French or Deutsch. There is no limit for styles, bring your favorite music and I will provide a safe environment for your personal and musical growth.
