I am Maria Papadatou, and I will happily help you achieve your musical goals, from zero to the top.
I love all student levels, but only towards the classical piano, of any eras' works and composers.

Outside the lesson time, I send you short videos when needed, to support your practice through the week.

As each student is different, I focus on each ones' needs and I am always creative in helping you learn through the simplest ways - "if it's easy, it's correct", that's my motto!
My greatest happiness is to watch my students grow, overcome any limit and expand in full potential!

As a result, many of my students have won top prizes at major international competitions, as the IBLA Grand Prize, the Spoleto International Piano Competition, the Bach au Jazz (Lilia Boyadjieva) International Piano Competition and many others. And also, at renown online competitions, as The Royal, the IYMC, the Forte Academy, and many-many others.

As a Certified teacher on the official RSL Awards Teacher Registry (MusicTeacher.com), I can now offer the RSL Classical Piano programme - a well-established international piano qualification, equivalent in level to ABRSM but with more flexibility.

I am a very proud piano teacher too, as, except all other distinctions, on Jan 11 2026 four young students of mine were awarded and invited to performed at the winners Gala at the Carnegie Hall in New York City! They also participated to the Juilliard School festival, with masterclass and lessons, a fabulous chance and experience that I wish all young pianists could have!

I wish I can always bring such great opportunities and successes to all of my "piano kids"!

Extra information

The lesson rate listed on my profile applies to beginner-level students. While our initial sessions can be at this price, the rate will subsequently be adjusted based on the student's level.

The lesson price includes 60 mins of instruction, as well as extra follow-up videos sent after the lesson, when needed, tailored to corrections and whatever else you need to work on.

Lessons are online and can be through Google Meets (for best sound) but also from but also from the link Apprentus creates for us, so, non need for downloading any app.

Please, message me to find the best time slot for both of us, especially if we aren't at the same time zone.

I also speak French, Italian and few Russian and Japanese, but lessons can be just in English or Greek

For students interested on the RSL Awards Certification Program, I need to check the students' level before proposing the Grade, the strategy, the lesson rate and the teaching material to use - according of course, on his/her preferences.

About Me

Hi, I am Maria, an experienced piano professor, since 1997.

My students have being awarded in numerous international competitions, live (in Greece, Italy, USA) and online. Four of them got invited to perform at the Carnegie Hall in NY on Jan 2026 and to participate at the Juilliard School Festival 10-12 Jan 2026.

Also, I am the author of 5 books on the piano pedagogy, the "magic piano books"
I've also created an e-book - free to download from the Greek Open Library. This is a very useful booklet, giving to the parents of the young piano beginners all the essential information for a healthy start.

I had the luck, as a student, to be guided by excellent Russian piano teachers, and I have seen how effective is the Russian piano school on every child's musical development and technique. I teach these fundamental principles, and I am proud of all my students' progress.

I am also the mom of three wonderful girls!

I have performed for several years, in solo piano concerts, as member of a piano duo, and with orchestra in Athens, Greece and Poros island.

Since 1997 I teach all piano repertoire levels.
The musical and technical skills I give to my students and the high level of knowledge allow them to perform with great success in piano recitals and exams, and to win prizes in piano competitions.

Since 2020 I teach online too and I believe that if both the teacher and the student have the will and the equipment, the music lesson can be very effective and offers both to them the chance to connect no matter the distance.

Pianist, sound artist and music educator offers music lessons at home. The main objective is to use music and sound as a means of expression. Back in Athens after ten years in France, I did my school years at the Pallini musical college and lycée, I hold two master's degrees in Musical Studies, from the University of Athens and the University of Paris VIII , and also graduated in piano in the last higher cycle. At the same time, I am trained as a specialized educator for vulnerable groups, I followed the DEM course in electroacoustic composition from CRD de Pantin. I had the opportunity to collaborate with various institutions such as the Philharmonie de Paris, the national opera house in Athens and several conservatories in France and Greece. These experiences gave me the necessary stimulation to continue in the educational path, and at the same time, they allowed me to develop a fun, rigorous and versatile teaching method, emphasizing the perception of sound, the rhythm, creation and above all pleasure.

I'm an Irish guitarist with twenty years of musical experience, including as a rhythm guitarist in several bands. I offer guitar lessons for beginner and intermediate players. For beginners, I'll focus on basic chord structures, strumming patterns, and simple fingerpicking techniques. For the intermediate player, I offer more advanced fingerstyle tutorials in a range of styles, covering songs by Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, Elizabeth Cotten, John Prine, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac and Big Bill Broonzy, among others.

I am a trained classical singer from Berlin, but I would like to install myself in Athens. In class, we will build your vocal technique with which you can sing about anything you'd like. As a yoga teacher, I focus on a holistic approach to singing using also yogic tools to improve technique and performance. In the second half of class, we will build a repertoire that you'd like to sing and implement the technique into it.
