Hi there, my name's James. I've been playing since the age of 10 (12 years), during which I have played with a number of bands and taught many students, both privately and in schools.

I'm currently the touring drummer for London Calling UK, The Meatloaf Story, and Emma Stevens, and have partaken in festivals and shows around the UK and Europe.

I am able to teach whatever it is you're wanting to learn. Whether we're starting at the beginning, or learning a certain song, each lesson will be tailored specifically to you and your needs.

I can provide in-person 1 to 1 lesson either at my home studio or at a place of the student's choice (within reason), or via video chats like Zoom and Skype. I am DBS checked.

I specialise in tutoring drums for Trinity and Rockschool graded exams.
I have a Masters degree in popular music performance and 20+ years in playing jazz and other music genres.
My classes are suitable for any level and the focus will be entirely tailored around your skills.

I am a violinist and traveling teacher. I have played the violin for many years in several orchestras. The violin rep to me is the most amazing beautiful sounds that have been created. I love to teach students from the very beginning to help them achieve a good technique and musical ear. The first few lessons are so important to understand how the body works with the violin in order to achieve a beautiful tone and musicality later down the line. I also cater for exams with ABRSM and trinity exam boards I have currently moved to London to continue my studies of the violin with Fabienne Fauritte. My teaching style depends on how the student learns and I will adapt to their needs in order to help them achieve their potential.

Luke is a professional musician and educator specialising in drums & percussion. Much of his work is with professional orchestras such as the CBSO and the Philharmonia. He has also played drum kit for many theatre shows including The Wild Party, Annie Get Your Gun and The King & I.

Every student's musical journey is unique and grades aren't for everyone, however many of Luke's students follow the excellent Trinity Rock & Pop syllabus for which he has a 100% pass rate.

We will customize the lesson plan according to your personal needs and goals. The method I follow allows you to play immediately without neglecting the fundamental aspects of the study of drums. We will approach the topics gradually, to allow you to develop the tools to improve and develop your expressive freedom progressively.

I think that the lessons should be a relaxing and fun moment but also a learning experience.
I use imagination and evaluate situations from different angles and points of view to achieve great efficiency, good coexistence, and mutual respect; that's why my lessons are tailored to students individually, to make sure you'll get the most out of our time together.

You will learn about technique (hands and feet), as well as styles (Pop, Rock, Blues, Funk, Soul, Jazz, Electronic, etc.), reading and transcription, time keeping, etc. The lesson will be entirely based on the student's needs and I will adapt the content based on those.

I will always maintain a supportive and positive environment for the student, the objective being to help him / her reach his / her own goals in a way that is both challenging and fun. My aim is not to overwhelm the student with content or to make him / her feel negatively in any way, shape or form !

When I begin teaching an individual, I make sure that I inspire them and teach them the value and beauty of music. I am very thorough about teaching technique properly so that it will last and be an asset in one's musical future, but I still like to keep my students on their toes and excited about actually making music and adding life to the notes they draw out of their instruments. Each individual is different and has different goals they wish to achieve with their playing, thus, for me it is very important to establish a connection with my students and cater each lesson to their specific needs and learning style.

I have had the pleasure of sharing my love of music with musicians of all ages ever since I began teaching the violin in 2014. I teach both young and mature students, focusing my energy on private lessons. I have also had the opportunity to work with groups of young children at summer programs in collaboration with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony.

I help students work towards ABRSM exams or towards their own goals, also teaching who aren’t interested in exams and wish to learn for fun. I make different plans for different students. I would teach basic music theory, and children's music, introducing basic music concepts.

I have also attended a music conservatoire from Sept 2016- Aug 2021, playing the cello, and so can teach this for grades 1-3.
