I have worked as a private tutor for six years now alongside working in a school as a HLTA and helping the SEN department. I have helped kids reach their learning targets and needs from Year 2-6. I use various techniques including flashcards and games to help make lessons enjoyable for children. I work in a way that can also boost memory retention.

I have just left my teaching and learning post of six years to branch out into different areas of learning. I enjoy helping children learn through different styles, using flashcards, getting them to move around the room to help them retain important information. Not everyone loves Maths and English and it's important to change strategies in children's learning.

I am a PhD student studying Chemistry at Imperial College London. I like helping students understand concepts and improve their grades, which is why I signed up to be a tutor.

During my A-level years, I was also selected as a Chemistry mentor to assist one of my peers. This reinforced my understanding of A-level Chemistry, and was a valuable teaching experience. It was especially rewarding to see my peer's grade improving from a D during the preliminaries to a B for A levels.
