My name is Kevin, and I am a passionate guitar player from Austin Texas, based here in Berlin.
I grew up studying classical guitar and playing rock guitar (Austin is a great city for rock!) before studying Jazz at the prestigious Thornton School of Music at USC in Los Angeles. I have been performing since the age of six, with solo and group performances in various cities across America, including Los Angeles, New York, and Washington DC. In addition to this, I have been teaching guitar for over 10 years. I am currently furthering my studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin focusing back on my first love, the classical guitar!

As a teacher, my focus is always on the individual student: what are your specific passions, strengths, and weaknesses, and what are your goals? How can I tailor our lessons to get us there? How can we have fun? In addition to this, with all my students I work to cultivate a strong and reliable technical ability. A good technique is important. It lays a strong foundation for everything and gives you the tools to truly express yourself musically.

I am happy to teach any style (except Reggae because... Nah just kidding) and all experience levels. Beginners are so very welcome! Here are some of my focuses:

- Fingerstyle: classical and folk style
- Plectrum style, strumming, and single note
- Improvisation (and all of its many applications!)
- Scales, chords, and arpeggios
- Advanced application of music theory
- Intuitive understanding of rhythm, along with odd time signatures
- Ear training (identifying notes and chords simply by hearing them)
- Music reading
- Using equipment to craft tones for electric guitar (amps and effects)
- Practical understanding of recording software, which is both a wonderful creative tool and vital for professional purposes.

I teach out of my apartment in Friedrichshain/Prenzlauer Berg.

The guitar is undoubtedly one of the most popular instruments of the modern age. It is so versatile and used in many genres ranging from classical music to Death Metal and even Electronic Music.

I will teach you the basics of playing the guitar, and I'll spice it up later with my experience in composition and songwriting. We will learn by example through the famous songs that shaped our understanding of the guitar. Whether you prefer singer-songwriter-style songs, or thrash metal we'll get there together.

I will teach mainly using the guitar tablature format, we can do sheet music which is generally unneeded for anything besides classical, but I will need to refresh my music sheet reading skills as I haven't had to read any in the last 10 years.

Piano is an incredible instrument to learn - it provides you with a broad understanding of music, develops listening skills, and great dexterity, increases concentration, and much more.
I specialize in jazz piano but teach all musical styles according to the student's needs and wishes. Throughout the lesson we will learn music and songs, technique, harmony, ear training, theory, and rhythm - all subjects of music can be addressed through the piano!

I am an experienced and enthusiastic guitar tutor from Leeds, England, living in Berlin. I have a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Leeds College of Music although I also play and teach rock, pop, funk, folk, and indie music.

In lessons, I aim to get students to play something they know as soon as possible in order to get excited about progress early on. We balance this with paying attention to proper technique and having one eye on the theory behind what we are playing to broaden your understanding of how music works.

I know what it means to feel like an eternal beginner. You learn new songs but you struggle each time there’s a new chord or a different strumming pattern. You would like to improve faster and you are not really sure if you are learning right.

Although you are playing, you don’t get the results that you want. This was the exact same thing that happened to me many years ago. I was playing but I didn’t really have a clear understanding of what I was doing.

It took me a while to understand that I had to invest in a high-quality teacher, not only someone who could play but also someone who had a background in teaching.

My guitar lessons are designed so that you acquire a solid music foundation from the beginning! I see too many new musicians simply copying from YouTube tutorials! I am afraid- that's not enough!

I graduated in piano with the highest honors under the guidance of Maestro Roberto Corlianò. Later I worked in: Salzburg, Austria (as a piano teacher's assistant) and later in Italy and in the Netherlands as a piano teacher. I have had students from 4 to 75 and the lessons will be open to all those who want to approach this instrument for the first time or wish to deepen their knowledge.
