I teach beginning and advanced aspiring pianists of all ages (3+) with a focus on immersing students in the magical world of music and getting the best possible quality out of them by challenging to achieve more than assumed possible. Music is a soul-enriching experience and developing musical skills can be a great gift for a lifetime. With solo piano performance degrees from the Royal Academy of Music (London) and the Universität der Künste (Berlin) I am a highly qualified award-winning concert pianist with almost 20 years of teaching experience and a passion for education. My musical learning was also furthered by postgraduate musicological studies at Royal Holloway and serious interests in philosophy, religions, history, civilization, literature, poetry, law, languages as well as many other things. I loved my musical journey which included not only piano but also composition, the violin, recorder, flute, harpsichord and clavichord from childhood onwards. In the last two decades, teaching has been giving meaning to my life and I enjoy helping others to find fulfillment as well as joy in their learning. My teaching approach is comprehensive, builds up confidence and incorporates a multidisciplinary orientation thanks to which students get promptly enthused over their learning. There is a focus on enhancing musical understanding, developing or improving reading skills, building up technique, expanding repertoire in a healthy way and foundationally preventing or sorting out injuries as well as pain-related problems. Although my teaching style is primarily quality-oriented with regards to skills, I believe that happiness, confidence, results and a sane sense of achievement are important components to balance in holistic education and offer a non-judgemental, patient, kind, equality-oriented, multicultural environment in which learning can thrive. I encourage students to perform in concerts, festivals, exams and competitions. Many have won prizes in numerous competitions and passed exams with distinctions. Others have improved their technical skills as well as understanding of music, thus opening more doors and finding professional opportunities in the world of music.

I've delivered guitar lessons at Spotify (Charing Cross Office), different primary schools and kindergartens. In 2018, I taught Brit Award-Winners Bastille how to play the traditional Argentinian rhythms BIOGRAPHY: Juan was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the age of nine he started teaching himself how to play guitar, bass, keyboards and drums; before joining local bands and performing around the country. After studying sound engineering at the Universidad Nacional de Lanús, he worked as a live sound engineer and separately on a number of music productions in his home studio. He also trained as a luthier/guitar technician, building and repairing stringed instruments alongside his father, using his surname as a brand. In 2014 Juan moved to London to develop his skills and connections. His passion and commitment to music led him to working at guitar repair workshops around the capital city, including Camden Town and the well-known Denmark Street. He repaired guitars for artists like the legendary Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Mercury Prize-winner Michael Kiwanuka, Grammy-winners Mumford & Sons, and King Krule. He later taught Brit Award-winners Bastille how to play the traditional rhythms of his home country. In 2017, Juan started composing a wide range of music genres under the name of "SEE YOU IN A BEAT" for all kinds of audio-visual media productions, including advertising campaigns for: Samsung, Coca-Cola, MasterCard, Nesquik, Avon and Breil At the same time, he played with a host of different bands as a guitarist, and busked around town. Juan was hired to work as a guitar technician at Abbey Road on live recording sessions. During this period spent in the studio, mastering engineer Wharton spotted Juan’s potential and encouraged him to focus more of his attention on writing, releasing and performing his own material as "808G" Extra information: I can provide an electric, acoustic or classical guitar.

Trusted teacher: Graduating with a First in English Literature in 2017 from Trinity College, Cambridge, I have tutored 250+ hours in the past two years, at all levels from 7+ to A-Level, and in exam boards from AQA to the UKISET for international students. I have taught both English and international students, and so am familiar with the varieties of difficulty that students can encounter and a variety of approaches for addressing them. I enjoy re-examining the elementals of the subject through tutoring. My students have all registered often substantial improvements and I continue to be asked back by different families if they feel they need a boost. I'm happy to provide references from students and parents. I have taught a variety of age ranges for school admissions from 7 to 13+. I have worked with students aiming for schools including Godolphin and Latymer, Harrodian, Kings Canterbury and Wycombe Abbey. The problems students have had have varied each time, from simple confidence and time-keeping issues, to more difficult ones like English being a second language or dyslexia. However every pupil I’ve taught so far has markedly improved and gained admission to at least one of the schools of their choice. I think my main strength as a tutor is an ability to explain concepts dealing with question structure and exam technique, and help the student to gently internalise them and gain their own confidence. I aim to strike a balance between engaging, personal commitment to making the student see and realise an organic interest in reading and writing, alongside the necessity of navigating exam requirements - but without making them seem restrictive or daunting. I really enjoy trying to individualise lessons for the student's specific needs and so will also try to stoke a personal interest and response to material studied, as I believe this makes for a much more enjoyable and painless process of learning. I am always keen to recommend or discuss specific books or authors of possible help or interest to students or parents. I aim to strike a balance between engaging, personal commitment to making the student see and realise an interest in reading and writing, alongside the necessity of navigating exam strictures and requirements - without making them seem restrictive or off-putting. I can also help with general essay-structuring/researching/writing skills in subjects not related to English. I can also help with Drama and Theatre-related studies.
