Philosophy, History, Literature, Theology/ Religious Studies, Ukulele,

MA student with too much information in his head who loves breaking it down into digestible chunks. My class is for the people who 'don't get it' and want it explained simply and accessibly. My classes give students their own understanding of the content with which to confidently approach their exams.

I received a 1st in Philosophy and Theology at bachelors level from the University of Nottingham. I am currently studying philosophy at King's College London.

Able to run classes on these topics in each field:

Philosophy: Philosophy of Religion, Ethics, Political Philosophy, Metaphysics, Philosophy of Mind.

History: Tudor England, Elizabethan England, Reformation Europe.

Theology/Religious studies: Islam, Christianity, Buddhism.

Literature: WW1 literature, Existentialist Literature, Othello. Great Gatsby, A View from the Bridge, Pride and Prejudice.

Have been playing the Ukulele for 8 years and so can help students gain competency in the instrument - have access to a lot of material.

Also have been learning Arabic for 4 years and can help beginners get set up.

I graduated from the University of Athens where I attended courses in pedagogics, psychology, philosophy and linguistics. What can I teach? - I can prepare you for exams in pedagogics, psychology, philosophy, linguistics. - Psychology (developmental / school / clinical / social) - Philosophy (mainly ancient philosophy, e.g. Socrates, Plato, Aristotle) - Linguistics / phonology / grammar / syntax During my lessons I use : - Skype/Whatsapp/Messenger to connect with you, - Google Docs to keep notes, which you can check at any time and they are yours to keep, - sketch board me to make mind maps/diagrams to show connections between ideas, etc. I adore my profession and desire each and every one of my students be satisfied with the lesson. That's why I make sure the atmosphere is stress-free and nice. I also want my lessons to be as effective as possible. Therefore, I make sure they are well-prepared, although they can be altered at any point, should such an opportunity arise. I like explaining things in a variety of ways as well as make use of dictionaries, diagrams, etc. When it comes to students who want to obtain certificates, I am very demanding.

Nadège
To progress in French and in philosophy with a professional of the particular course (more than 10 years of experience at your service!)
Presentation : Already a twelfth grade in private class ... It is completely by chance that I started in this activity at the exit of the college, not wishing to pass the CAPES immediately and finally, I found the job that suits me in every way. Each new student is a new adventure: human, cultural, psychological. The private lesson is a space of exchange where one can answer in a perfectly adapted way to the problems (sometimes to the distress ...) of a young adult in the making. After practicing in Marseille and Rennes, I live today in Finland! But I do not intend to stop my job that I always practice with passion and I'm looking for students who want to work by webcam, to complete my schedule. The advantages of the course by webcam are numerous for the student: - Relax at home in a familiar environment. - Quick exchange of documents: in my subjects, one always needs an unexpected text which invites itself according to the conversation! - Flexibility of the organization - Ludo-educational use of the web etc. CV COURSES - Since 2011: Teacher in private lessons in my account - From 2007 to 2011, Teacher Acadomia / Anacours / Completude / Legendre (2013): private lessons - From 2007 to 2011, Acadomia teacher: intensive internships (French, philosophy, methodology of high school work, orientation) - 2010: Educational consulting for Acadomia (creation of new services, analysis of teaching aids etc ...) OTHER 2018: Orthographic and syntactic corrections of the military history book "Les dragons, from the origins to 1918" by Nicolas Bretegnier and Eugène Lelièpvre, published by Epopée 2013: Orthographic and syntactic corrections of Claude-Louis Moreau's book on political philosophy "Réinvestir le politique", published by Éditions L'Harmattan, collection "contemporary issues". License of Modern Letter (AB Mention) obtained at the University of Provence in 2007 METHOD - Identification of the gaps: "anyway, I'm bad in French!" Alas, many students take their bad notes for a fatality, even for a personal judgment. They feel deprived and devalued. To return to success, it is essential to understand the reasons for the failure, and fill the gaps, little by little, but with determination! - Methodological approach of the disciplines: In French (or in philosophy), the student often thinks that there is nothing to do! The lack of working method is the first factor of failure unfortunately. Over the course of the course we will make sure to restore a working method conducive to success in the subject, and of course, we will focus on the methodology specific to each type of exercise requested (essay, comment etc.) - Content developed to develop the curiosity of the student and reconcile with the subject: without active collaboration of the student, the private lesson is vain. That's why it's important to stimulate it rather than force it to swallow. However, do not hide it from us: as in all subjects, there are boring steps (I feel a sincere compassion for high school students who are confronted with the learning and identification of text registers by example!) - Adapted and individualized teaching materials: this is one of the advantages of the private lesson! The teacher adapts and invents daily. I would not want to work myself with a support that I would have tired, anyway! - Method of work entirely based on the exchange and the putting in confidence of the pupil. The private lesson is a particular time of school life. It's not just "school after school". The pupil must face his shortcomings, must accept his errors as well as his weaknesses. In a teenager's life, it's like being laid bare. How could he do it if he does not trust the person in charge of helping him? As a teacher, I am always sincere with my students: I tell them their weaknesses, but I show them their strengths. I try to show them that a note, good or bad, is just a picture, an inventory of their knowledge of a particular subject at a given moment. It is part of my mission to show them that I do not judge them, and that I rely on facts (a copy, an exercise, a report card, etc.) to improve a situation that only requires improve! - Great experience of "Dys": over the years, word of mouth has made me more and more students "dys". Since labels are often sterile, I focus with them, as with others, on the essentials and try to distinguish between what is traditional and what is not. I would just say that the confidence and lack of judgment I mentioned above is more than crucial here! One thing is certain: a dys can do everything in French or in philosophy (and in general, in high school) despite the difficulties! Superior : Methodology of the dissertation, the structuring of a writing, the synthesis of documents, correction of memoirs and internship reports, preparation for various competitions (paramedics, business schools ...) - Follow-up of out-of-school students (medical reasons, precocity, free baccalaureate candidates, etc.)

Alex
Guitar lessons and music theory lessons in Rotterdam
Through his studies in Rotterdam, Alex had the opportunity to learn guitar with teachers from different backgrounds and influences (classical, latin, jazz, flamenco, Turkish, Indian, jazz composition and pop). This led him to study his instrument and investigate music through multiple angles and perspectives, accumulating complementary knowledge to fully understand and synthesize its functioning. After achieving a degree in guitar (performance and pedagogy), he started to devise exercises and systems of learning through his own method, refining it as time went on. He then started to teach what he had learned and developed, first in private classes then through music schools. Alex's priorities through the lessons are development, motivation and interest. It's very important that there is a constructive evolution in the pupil's playing, a constant will to move forward, as well as pieces/songs that inspire him or her. It's important that the pupils learn through an efficient and personal method, but also through their own interest and repertoire (wishlist). In a teaching lesson the focus is put on : - guitar posture, technique and sound - timing and rhythmic feel - strumming and grooves - interpretation - theory and knowledge of music - improvisation - repertoire (on student's wishlist) There are three dimensions to a student's programme : scores, tutorials and coaching. Having a Master's degree in Jazz composition (Rotterdam), Alex designs the scores himself, making arrangements of pieces / songs in an accessible way, along with his method and exercises for guitar technique. The scores are written with a hybrid notation (music notation and tab notation), and with all the information necessary about the right and left hand. After having agreed on the pieces / songs to be worked on, the relevant score is shared and given at the lesson. The teacher goes through it, while he also plays it live to the pupil for even more reach. He then explains what needs to be clarified in order to prepare any homework. Finally, Alex creates a video tutorial about the piece or song that needs to be learned for the next lesson. This gives extra support when practising at home, in order to avoid any doubt and keep motivation up. A report is then created to keep track of what has been done as well as what needs to be worked on, in order to unlock technical requirements and complete a specific repertoire in a constructive and efficient way. Alex teaches in Rotterdam at home or at the pupil's own location ; lessons are in Dutch, English or French, for all ages and levels. The teacher mainly gives live lessons, where he works with his pupils on specific material (technique and repertoire). If for any reason a live lesson can't take place, it is of course possible to follow an online lesson. Lessons last 30 minutes or 45 minutes, weekly or biweekly.

Im Jahr 2014 veröffentlichte er sein erstes Soloalbum "Morro de Saudade". Nicolás (EN) Classical Guitar Teacher from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is currently living and studying in Zürich, Switzerland, doing a Master’s Degree program in early plucked string instruments at the ZHdK with Eduardo Egüez. He studied in Buenos Aires with Marcela Sfriso and Eduardo Isaac. As part of his training, he also took several courses and seminars with renowned guitarists, such as Pablo Márquez, Eduardo Fernández, Walter Ujaldón, and Miguel de Olaso. In the last ten years, he was featured regularly as a soloist and with different ensembles in the main concert halls in Buenos Aires city, such as CCK, Usina del Arte and Centro Nacional de la Música. He has also performed in Paraguay, Switzerland and Italy. In 2009 he founded the Camerata Argentina de Guitarras (guitarist and Artistic Director 2009-2019). In 2014 he released his first solo album "Morro de Saudade”. He has made national and international premieres of Latin-American composers such as Leo Brouwer and Javier Farías, with an ensemble and as a soloist. We can work in any kind of songs, strummings, fingerpicking, fingerstyle My classes are for: -Amateurs and advanced students. -Kids, young people, and adults. I can teach in English, Spanish, and High German. More about my classes My guitar teaching model is based on books and the approach of guitarist and pedagogue Abel Carlevaro. In some way, it is about understanding and analyzing the nature of the movements we make to play the guitar or ukelele in the simplest way possible. Just as to build a building you need a good foundation, to build a system of skills that allows us to be musicians, we need to know and practice in a conscious way all the movements we do. These movements are what we do when we play just one open string or what we need to do to play the most difficult piece of the repertoire. After getting to know and listening to how my students play I propose a short and medium-term work plan. This plan is presented taking into account the objectives and wishes of each student. Exercises and pieces are included that will also allow to know the repertoire of the guitar. Therefore, each work plan includes specific and general contents.

World Literature and Poetry: learn how to understand classics and develop your mindset.
Have you ever experienced being confused about the classics? How do you react when people around you passionately discuss a book, a poem that you do not understand, that you do not feel, that you find nothing extraordinary in? Does it make you feel different and more precocious? If so, then the rest of the world must be seriously mistaken as it continues paying tribute to a "masterpiece". If not, then your way of reading and thinking must be a part of the problem. And I can help you with this situation. Whether you do not read at all or read all the time and all the books, all the stories sound alike to you. I will refresh your vision and your perception. Letters, words, and sentences will awaken for you. Literature is art where both the creator and the consumer are artists. Be brave to open your soul up to new thoughts and trust me to help you in this process.
