About Me

Teaching is a great responsibility and honour. The idea is to create a relaxed and inspirational learning environment. I have over 20 years teaching experience as well as 25 years in the music business as a writer, producer and instrumentalist. Apart from learning to play the guitar, I also encourage the student to be creative with what they are learning and write their own ideas and come up with original compositions. Learning an instrument is about allowing your inner creativity to flow. It is all about enjoyment, meditation, focus, therapy and creativity.

I have 9 'O' levels (GCSE's) and 3 'A' Levels.
I have a degree in Art History and French from the University of Sussex.
I have been studying Shaolin Kung Fu for the last 10 years.

I specialize in teaching music theory and piano, especially for songwriters, drawing from my background of classical piano, my MA in songwriting, and my career as a published singer/songwriter. I assign creative exercises as homework, and I try to not let any question unanswered!

For instrumentalists, we will look at the piano and some of its different techniques - classical, jazz, accompanying yourself, with focus on what the student actually wants to learn.
For songwriters, we will go through music theory basics, and then basic harmony until we will be able to construct own our songs.

Special programme for younger beginners “Music Wonderland” has been specifically designed for children as young as 3.5 up to 7 years old.

In addition I offer classes on music yoga and therapy which bring harmony, balance and open creative powers of an artist.

Classes take place individually and in a group.

I teach violin and all brass instruments from beginner right through to grade 8. I also have experience teaching music theory and GCSE and A Level Music. This class is based in songwriting and musical performance. I will provide any tips and suggestion to get a song done and don't get stuck between lyrics or chords. I'll be focussing in songwriting structure across different genre, pop, folk, blues, jazz.

I will be also structuring the classes giving home exercise working on new sketches every week across those different genres, and diverse themes.

Once the song will be completed I'll give any sort of advice on how to perform a song to an audience. How to structure a show and organise you band if you have one.

During the lesson I'll be using piano as main instrument and singing. I am also confident in guitar if required.

Songwriting and performance for me are quite related. At the same time I can also give advice and teach just one or the other if required.

Hi, I'm Giacomo and I'm currently in my 4th year studying Electronic Music at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

In this class we will look at various production techniques specifically in Ableton Live and Logic Pro X, synthesis and mixing/mastering audio but tailoring these techniques to fit whatever projects and tracks you're working on.

Now a days the role of Music Producer has changed drastically. Not only do producers have to learn the business and build artists, they also are in charge of making the music themselves. This has made the demand for Producers way higher while the role has gotten even more interesting and challenging.

In the lessons I will be teaching the students how to make music (preferably with the software Fl Studio), navigate the music industry, build clients and push the boundaries of modern day sounds. I have found that teaching production ignites passion in students not just for music but in the arts as a whole. I will also be giving students access to emails and connections to artists I work with as rewards for dedication/practice to create more incentive to work harder.

Learning to play guitar is a life-long journey, one that is fulfilling and absorbing.
