Teaching Violin for All Age Groups and Levels
From 42.87 £ /h
I offer individual one-to-one violin lessons for any age and level. You can choose between 30, 45, or 60-minute lessons once a week with 40 lessons total in a year. The lessons can be in Koninklijk Conservatorium (Royal Conservatoire) The Hague, online, or at the student's home with an additional transport fee per lesson.
My violin class is open to any genre, from classical to pop. The lessons will be in English, Indonesian, or basic Dutch. There is no need to bring anything for a lesson, but it would be great if you already have your violin, and feel free to bring your previous materials or songs/pieces you have ever learned to the lesson.
When teaching, I focus on diversity and inclusivity. I have taught diverse students from various nationalities, ages, and levels.

About Me
Yusuf, usually called Nanta, started as a violin teacher in 2015. He started his teaching journey from his former music school, where he first learned the violin. He teaches various students from different backgrounds and nationalities, such as Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, and Dutch. He gives lessons for all ages and levels. He also volunteered as a music teacher in Sanggar Anak Akar's theater project, a Foundation that provides education to street children through music and theater.
Nanta's musical journey started in 2003 in a small music school, Serenade Music Course, in his hometown, Depok City. Since then, he began to broaden his musical life through private lessons, master classes, orchestras, summer courses, and violin teaching. He participated in Chloé Trevor Music Academy in Texas, USA, where he had lessons with Rachel Kitagawa Shapiro. He also participated in masterclasses by Jun Hong Loh, Kim Chee-Yun, Gia Jashvili, Aeolus Quartet, and Paula Pérez Romero. He is a Master of Music Education graduate from Koninklijk Conservatorium (Royal Conservatoire) The Hague, where he studied violin with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho.
Nanta joined orchestras, such as Concordia Community Orchestra and Jakarta Conservatory Chamber Orchestra. He was a guest member of Orquesta de Cámara de Siero (OCAS) for Vínculos Indonesia 2017 and Ricciotti Ensemble's Futuratour, advocating social and cultural integrations through music and inclusion. He was a guest member of the Gunma Junior Orchestra for the Japan Junior Orchestra Festival 2015.
Nanta's bachelor's degree in psychology also supports his teaching, especially when encountering students' learning difficulties and supporting their learning processes, which he believes in more than the goals. Through teaching experiences, he found that focusing on the process and reflecting on and evaluating the lessons are crucial. An objective is to guide teachers and students to perceive where they are heading.
Furthermore, mutual belief is vital between the student, teacher, and parents in a student's learning process. A healthy relationship and open communication between these parties are crucial to understanding their violin lesson expectations. It is essential, especially for students, to not feel forced to achieve something they do not want to. It is also part of a learning process to commit to their own goals and enjoy the process. As a teacher, Nanta also believes that students must understand the essence of their practice, know what they have to achieve, be self-reflective, and evaluate their techniques and musicianship. It is fundamental for students to be aware of their progress and develop their self-esteem.
