My lessons are focussed on finding the joy of music- a goal that I have myself which I love to pass on to my students.
I welcome students of all ages and abilities. Whatever your aim, we can work together to tailor a unique method that suits you and allows you to feel confident with the instrument.
I have over a decade of experience teaching in a variety of settings so I have a method to suit everyone, whether you want to play your very first note or are ready to step on stage for a concerto.
I cover all aspects of flute playing including note reading, sound production, posture, technique as well as musicality and expression.
I am based in London and am happy to travel to your home. Alternatively, you can book online lessons.

Hello! I am Nicola, I'm a professional flute player and teacher from Edinburgh, Scotland.
I have extensive experience performing at a high level in a range of styles, usually as an orchestral player but also in chamber music and in contemporary, jazz and pop settings.
I recently studied at the prestigious Conservatorium van Amsterdam and received a Masters's degree with distinction. Looking forward to meeting you!

Bio: I am a master’s student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama studying the flute. I graduated from Cardiff University’s School of Music with a 1st class degree in Musicology in 2019. I have grade 8 qualifications in piano and music theory and a diploma in flute performance. I have an interest in the psychology of music performance and performance anxiety.

I am able to work with all ages and all levels of ability and experience. Whether you are starting from the beginning or you are a more experienced player looking to sharpen-up your playing, I am more than able to find a way to work with you based on what you wish to accomplish! The recorder is a great instrument to learn either on its own or as a springboard for transferring to other instruments! Lessons will improve your musicality and your playing, no matter your level, and teach you to enjoy and express yourself through music.

As a beginner, you or your child can expect to learn the basics of music notation and how to read it, and how to play simple pieces on the recorder. Intermediate and advanced students can expect more nuanced lessons on technique, musicality, phrasing, and more. Basic theory and aural skills training will be incorporated throughout, and students can work towards graded exams if they wish.

The history of Theatre censorship and the Royal Court Theatre is crucial to understanding Edward Bond's Saved.

This class will give you the opportunity to explore these complex texts with a practising playwright, and the expanded knowledge of these plays will give you that edge when it comes to the exam.
