My name is Rachel and I am currently in my third and final year at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts studying Music Theatre. I am a trained vocalist teaching classical, music theatre, and pop styles. I also hold a Diploma of Musical Theatre from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and also AMEB qualifications. I was a finalist in the West End Competition 'Gotta Sing' performing in the final at the Playhouse Theatre in the West End in October 2016 and a member of the featured chorus for 'The Pirate Queen' at the London Coliseum in March 2020.

After graduation, I taught with the NIDA Open program across acting and musical theatre genres, in addition to assisting on youth drama courses at Rose Bruford College.

I have just completed my music degree where I specialised in contemporary classical singing and opera. I have experience singing jazz, pop and musical theatre and have completed one year on a Vocal Studies course at a Music Conservatoire. I have Grade VIII in Violin and Classical Voice, Grade VI in piano and Pop and Jazz Vocals and recently achieved a 1st for my final degree recital and composition. The techniques that you gain from classical training can be applied to all genres and give a strong foundation to be able to perform any music you may be interested in. I can also offer help with music theory and shape what I teach to meet your interests and goals. Music has always been a huge part of my life and I would be thrilled to pass on my knowledge. I studied music at university and have Grade 8 in both piano and vocals, but I have also performed in many different venues across the UK. I have helped previous students with stage-fright and anxiety with performing as well as aiding them learn their favourite songs on piano - and singing along at the same time. I can teach in many different piano styles from popular music to classical and I can also teach music theory.

I have a deep passion for traditional, holistic yogic practises and I understand that large classes can be overwhelming. I have found that Yoga is very individual, and with gentle 1:1 guidance, has lots room for personal growth. I can teach poses, breathing techniques and meditation to help us feel the best we can.

All my lessons will be tailored to each student, we will discuss together the goals of the practise, and provide the balance of learning, but also making it fun and enjoyable and a space to relax.

I hold a first class honours degree in Classical Flute from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I studied with Ian Clarke and Philippa Davies, and won the Needlemaker's Woodwind Prize. After graduating in 2022, I was invited to become a Guildhall School Junior Fellow, specialising in Flute and Composition.

As a freelance flautist, I have had the privilege of performing at prestigious venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Concert Hall and the Southbank Centre. My performance experience encompasses a diverse range of settings, from live radio broadcasts to collaborations with dance and art installations, reflecting my versatility as a musician, and openness to help my students pursue their own personal journey, both within music and as an individual in general.

In addition to my passion for the flute, I am also an accomplished composer with a portfolio of commissioned works premiering at renowned venues and exhibitions worldwide. Notable highlights include composing for Wessel Flutes, Berlin Fashion Week, Nxt Museum (Amsterdam), and Adidas Y-3. My work as a composer heavily influences my approach to teaching. Beyond emphasising technical proficiency and a solid grasp of music theory, I am dedicated to nurturing creativity in all of my students.

I teach various styles and specialise in Classical, Operatic and Musical Theatre. I also work with singers who are in need of vocal rehabilitation after injury or other medical reasons.

Singing is an amazing skill to have, and it enriches one's life in so many ways. So if you're a beginner, you'll find how instantly rewarding it is when you see how quickly you develop and improve your ability to sing.

I am a professional operatic tenor and a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and continue to perform regularly throughout the country and internationally. I now have 20 years of performing and teaching experience, and specialise in teaching vocal technique and refining tone quality.

I encourage my students to develop healthy singing habits, while combining this with language coaching, interpretation and performance skills. I also work regularly with singers for audition preparation, industry professionals and also in vocal rehabilitation.

Learning to sing is the same as any other skill, and everyone is capable of singing well. Singing is unique to each person and I always adapt my lessons accordingly.

Since the age of 8, I have been exploring the world of music, particularly the flute. I took flute lessons at the Niedermeyer Conservatoire in Issy Les Moulineaux for 10 years and I was a flautist of the junior symphony orchestra for 5 years.

Fascinated by the flute, I joined music competitions, such as "Prodiges" in Paris, obtaining a distinction (18/20) in 2018. I also took part in a music Masterclass at UDELM (Lions of Music Summer University) in Embrun (High-Alps - 05 France) in 2016.

Thanks to this variety of styles and techniques, lessons can be adapted for students interested in musical theatre, pop, contemporary music, jazz, or simply discovering and improving their natural voice.

One of my biggest priorities is vocal health. Students will learn how their vocal instrument truly works, how to use it correctly, and how to sing safely without hurting themselves. Understanding your voice is just as important as developing it, and I make sure every exercise is done in a healthy and sustainable way.
