I provide piano, voice, composition and music theory lessons for all levels and ages. 11 years of piano teaching and music theory experience. 8 years of composition teaching experience and 5 years of experience in GCSE preparation. Able to teach various genres.

I have a holistic approach on piano teaching and an adaptable teaching style based on the ability, needs and aims of my tutees. A typical recommended lesson would be 1h, were I work on technique, theory and performance practice.

I am currently the Head of Music at City academy Islington, running the department and ensuring my students have high quality lessons. I have worked as a piano teacher in various institutions. In the past years I have worked as soloist (Piano and Operatic singing) with the National Opera of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece, and other organizations.

About Me

I am currently the Head of Music at City academy Islington, running the department and ensuring my students have high quality lessons. I have worked as a piano teacher in various institutions. In the past years I have worked as soloist (Piano and Operatic singing) with the National Opera of Greece, National Theatre of Northern Greece and other organisations.

I have a piano teaching and performance degree from the State conservatory of Veria, Greece and a an MA from the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki, Greece. I also have studies in operatic singing and orchestral & choral conducting.

I'm passionate about music and piano playing. I have worked in various settings, with experience as a piano soloist and teacher. I have worked hard over the years, always trying to improve my practice and ensure my students receive the best experiences through our lessons.

My goal is to always empower my students and give them the tools and skills they need to follow Music in any way they want.

I have a very good contact with children. I am demanding but gentle and very patient. I believe that one learns by listening, I am present to allow this listening to be at the center of the course and thus accompany the student on the path of music.

The development of listening to the inner song is at the heart of my teaching.

For beginners: songs, games, improvisation, creation. The links with song and rhythm are very important to have a healthy foundation. The musical notions are approached gradually by experience then by recognition. Reading and writing are brought about by creation and musical composition.

For the more experienced, polyphony and difficult passages can be approached with different tools, by awareness of harmony and melodic modes and polyrhythm. Sometimes it is enough to be aware of simplicity to overcome difficult passages.

I push to go further in the quality of the interpretation with simple means to better understand the music and thus allow more expressiveness and freedom.

I also offer improvisation, harmony,
lessons in musical ensembles, especially vocal polyphony for children, and lessons for specific needs, for example just intonation for singers or other instruments.

Music has always been a huge part of my life and I would be thrilled to pass on my knowledge. I studied music at university and have Grade 8 in both piano and vocals, but I have also performed in many different venues across the UK. I have helped previous students with stage-fright and anxiety with performing as well as aiding them learn their favourite songs on piano - and singing along at the same time. I can teach in many different piano styles from popular music to classical and I can also teach music theory.

I have a deep passion for traditional, holistic yogic practises and I understand that large classes can be overwhelming. I have found that Yoga is very individual, and with gentle 1:1 guidance, has lots room for personal growth. I can teach poses, breathing techniques and meditation to help us feel the best we can.

I was a classical piano student at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for 7 years and continued to study music for a year in Paris. I am a professional operatic tenor and a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and continue to perform regularly throughout the country and internationally. I now have 20 years of performing and teaching experience, and specialise in teaching vocal technique and refining tone quality.

I encourage my students to develop healthy singing habits, while combining this with language coaching, interpretation and performance skills. I also work regularly with singers for audition preparation, industry professionals and also in vocal rehabilitation.

Learning to sing is the same as any other skill, and everyone is capable of singing well. Singing is unique to each person and I always adapt my lessons accordingly.
