KEY OBJECTIVES:

• To introduce the right toolkit to take on contemporary art of any kind, no matter how difficult, minimal and conceptually driven it may be.

• To learn to spot and call out artwork that is being difficult or challenging because it’s a load of rubbish.

• To make you feel more confident when making and looking at contemporary art!

How can we be so categorical about something as subjective as deciding if art is ‘good’ or ‘bad’? Think of it like this: If you’re not any good at carpentry, you can still identify a poorly made coffee table. Basically, what we’re going to try to do is understand how to recognise if an artwork has been responsibly made or not. In the case contemporary art that has been made responsibly, this class will suggest that your kid could not have made it, any more than they could have removed your appendix, designed a suspension bridge or landed a crashing helicopter. In the case of art that has not been made responsibly, then yes, perhaps your kid could have made it.

I am professional contemporary artist who understands that art isn't always accessible, and definitely isn't always fun. I am therefore committed to creating playful, accessible and rewarding experiences in both making and teaching art.

I am a visual artist born in Barcelona, settled in Belgium since 2017. As an artist I have accumulated experience for the last 25 years. I am graduated with an Academic Bachelor in Fine Arts in the University of Barcelona and graduated as a Master in Visual Arts at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerpen.

I am specialised in painting, drawing, experimental films, installations, language, sound and curating. In other words, I am a multidisciplinary artist.

I understand the artistic practice as a way to understand ourselves and the situations which surrounds us. In my classes I don't teach how to do Art, but as how to say something through your artistic work. With me you can work independently, with a coach who will challenge you with some assignments and giving feedback to your personal concerns.

In addition, you will learn how to work with several mediums, preparing your own material: paintings, canvases, and so on.

You will not only receive individual coaching but as encourage you to look other artists or take into account other references connected with your concerns.

Finding, discussing and retaking solutions together are the core of my classes.

How to present yourself and your project to the media?

Targeted content according to your project: Verbal and / or gestural communication; Seduction of the lens and / or microphone; Improvisation in front of a microphone and / or a camera; Voice & gaze; Games of one or two cameras; Chronic; Animation; Reportage; Direct radio & TV; Interview; Narration; Speech in all its forms (...)

In short, several objectives:
◾ Confront your shyness in front of the microphone / camera.
◾ Understand his speech and his diction.
◾ Taming the media environment (radio / tv).
◾ Familiarize yourself with your image and voice.
◾ Manage your speaking time.

Through exercises (diction, voice, presence, breathing, presentations, time management, etc.), role plays, interview simulations and familiarization with one's image and voice, the participants move at their own pace in a flexible educational framework.

Note that during the videoconference session, all the notes are transcribed in the chat so that you can access them at any time when you wish.

Indeed, speaking is a predominantly physical activity, which, while taking care of its image, is based on a body, a voice, a breath, a rhythm (diction) and an emotion (the imagination and the sensations ) reflecting the speaker's involvement in his speech. How to send a clear message? How to make the difference, to make an impression?

Knowing how to speak, act and interact in public is almost a necessity today: your public speaking must be effective and efficient with clear, simple and powerful messages.

Simple and pragmatic tools will be presented for: generating listening ● making an impression ● fostering confidence ● generating need ● motivating teams by explaining a strategy ● getting messages across within groups ● overcoming shyness by assimilating 3 CRV axes (body-breathing-voice) ● better manage disagreement or conflict.

Mastered, the method allows:
• improve self-confidence and stress management with the development of the speaker's fluency (verbal-bodily), his public speaking and his sense of repartee and improvisation.
• to work on their ease, leadership, charisma, creativity and personal development through scenarios.
* improve the characteristics of the spoken voice (timbre, pitches, intention, flow).
* get your message across through your image, while gaining improvisation skills and responsiveness.

Supplemented by basic exercises (diction, voice, presence, breathing, presentation, time management), role plays, improvisations and simulations. With the key word: pronunciation, diction / articulation, the sense of repartee.

Statistically, the progression following these private sessions is quickly noticeable, from 2 sessions. ( study 2020).

Trained in Grande Ecole post-preparatory classes & Ivy League university in the United States, specialized and has worked for more than 15 years, in Europe and North America, in the field of communication and public speaking, in renowned international public and private establishments, intervening in forums and conferences, and oriented on pedagogy and careful methodology.

Egg tempera is one of the most ancient historical art painting technique. It preserved as a main technique to paint orthodox religious icons. It is possible to learn it and paint your own icon. I have 12 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the halos. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.

I am an artist and philosopher from Amsterdam currently living in Antwerp. I studied in London where I acquired a BA from Art Academy London and a BA in philosophy from St Mary's University London.

Artistic development starts by identifying your artistic interest. As artists, we don’t always know why we draw and paint the things that we do. Yet they are not random. What captivates us or draws us towards certain artworks? This might be the tonal way in which light reflects, structural forms or mathematical division. The point being, is that we all have such aesthetic interests and step 1 is finding out what interests you!

Step 2 is helping you express your interests through painting techniques, styles and materiality. But it all starts with you. What do you want to say? And how? I will help you do this through discussion, looking at your previous work (if you have any), introducing you to a LARGE variety of artists, potentially copying their styles. I adjust my classes according to your needs.

The goal is simple: to come to understand your artistic interest, help you find techniques to express them and develop your artistic language.

(Please note that just because you have found an artistic interest and a way to express it, it does not mean that you must do only one thing for the rest of your life. It is the downfall of creativity to repeat and paint the same way over and over again. Instead, allow your interests to drive your creativity. Let it be the starting point, venture out and discover it from various angles and ways of expressing it. But also be mindful that as we grow our interests can change and as they change, we must remain honest and respond accordingly such that our artistic language can also grow.)

It is true that the philosopher is the friend of wisdom, but above all, he is someone who does not want to make mistakes in reasoning. Philosophizing is a way of reasoning and a way of solving problems that will never have a perfect and definitive solution. Knowing the distance between the Earth and the Moon is not a problem of philosophy, because it is enough to measure to solve it. For the past 10 years, I have been teaching German using the philosophy methodology, having studied philosophy at the Master's level at Aix-Marseille University. It turns out that the analytical mind is very useful even outside the confines of philosophy. Today, there are even fields of activity such as management with philosophy or philotherapy. In recent years, some German students have asked me to also teach them philosophy courses, and that is why I decided to offer philosophy courses directly.
