About Me

One of my favorite things about teaching English online is seeing my students improve and gain confidence to exercise what we have learned in class in the real world.

I am a very patient teacher and I welcome mistakes. I want my students to be able to make mistakes so that they can learn from them. I like to break lessons apart into sections so that there is no information overload or any confusion during the lesson.

I like students that ask a lot of questions and also attempt conversation. There is obviously no pressure and I am here to help guide you in the conversation.

I also have extensive experience assisting students to study and prepare for their TEFLs, TEOLS, EILTS tests, presentations, and interviews. So if you need help preparing for your next big test, whether for a new job or for university entrance, or travel, I am very happy to guide you through practice tests (timed and untimed tests)

I also cater to specific student needs in the lesson, If you feel that you'd like to learn phrasal verbs, I am able to prepare a lesson plan specifically for that topic ahead of time.

I want my students to be as confident and satisfied with their language level every time they leave my lesson.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, majoring in Human Biology and Archaeology. I am also a TEFL verified teacher with 5 years of teaching experience.

Learning a foreign language is not a linear process that consists of memorising a list of words, and speaking a foreign language is not an oral translation exercise.

There are two types of approaches to acquiring knowledge:

When asked what year follows 1999, you can immediately answer 2000 without having to think for a long time and, above all, without having memorised each number individually, starting with 1, 2, 3 ... You know that numbers are formed according to a certain pattern. With only ten digits, you can form an infinite number of numbers and always know which number comes next.
