I've studied Conservatory next to my studies and have been playing piano for 10 years. I would like to continue spreading the joy of piano to new learners and share their journey of learning this beautiful instrument. If you are interested in learning how to play pieces to impress your audience, get to know the notes and rhythms, or you are a beginner pianist who wants to improve, even if you don't know any notes, you are more than welcome to my class, let's learn!

The class is for beginners at any age! I can help you improve, record myself playing the pieces you want to learn and send you for further reference, suggest and advise you on the books I've used to learn piano myself!

P.S. I have a book for 3-4 year olds to teach the notes which I give as a gift in my lessons!

Composer and experienced piano teacher David is offering piano lessons for all ages, - particularly interested in new adult students. Complete beginners through to advanced. With over 12 years teaching experience, David's lessons can be tailored to all objectives – with a focus on imparting an understanding of music as a deep language, and on developing a sensitive and powerful technique. In addition to classical piano and, music theory, David can also help you explore simple approaches to begin composing if you with to explore your creative talents. Alternatively, lessons can be approached as therapy (in a non formal sense) and leisure. The focus is classical music and classical methods but we will dive into other styles occasionally if you would like.

Lessons take place at my place in Ixelles. I may also be able to come to your place depending on location. A very small amount of online students can be accepted to help with accessibility or other reasons.

He holds a Bachelor of Creative Arts from the University of Melbourne, performance Diplomas (pianoforte) from the Asssociated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in the UK and AMEB in Australia, and recently graduated with high marks from the post-graduate degree programme in Film Scoring and Orchestration at Lisbon's National Academy of Adanced Orchestral Studies (ANSO). Being highly skilled in sight-reading, I have often realised how valuable and enjoyable it is to possess that “gift.” After more than ten years of teaching students of different levels and aspirations, I have observed a common thread: regardless of their goals, all were eager to improve their ability to read and interpret new, unfamiliar music.

Currently, I am developing a multifaceted approach designed to help students understand a composition at first sight. This method combines specific pattern recognition and structural score-mapping, anchored in a fundamental understanding of rhythm, pitch, and harmony, together with highly effective practice and memorization strategies personalized to each student's needs and technical challenges.

Whether you want to play just for fun or to become a professional pianist I can give you a personalized course. At the beginning of the course, I will evaluate your level and give you recommendations of what we can work on. There are two main types of courses:

- a hobbyist course: it won't be time consuming. I will help you learn new pieces and a little theory and solfege. The primary goal of this course is to make you enjoy playing in your spare time without having to practice too much.

- a professional course: in this course I will help you reach the level of a professional musician. I will give you an insight of how to prepare a piece or pieces for a competition or an audition. I offer personalized lessons based on the objectives defined together during our first meeting. Depending on ambitions, needs, and desires, I adapt to different learning paces and timelines so that the discovery or resumption of the instrument takes place in the most natural and interesting way possible for both student and teacher.

I can teach students the basics of piano (hand position, notes, and rhythms), but also how to read sheet music independently, play pieces from different genres (classical, jazz, contemporary, etc.), feel comfortable at the keyboard, and be able to improvise.
