About Me

Currently I have 9 students in all ages: starting at 7, finishing on 65+. I love teaching, it is my passion, and I always try to find a way to teach through curiosity of a student, rather than "hard and long practice".

Dear violin lovers! I'm a violin teacher for 10 years now, I have been teaching in Portugal and the Netherlands. My lessons can be given in English, Portuguese, French or Spanish.

Playing the violin is my passion, especially when I can pass on my knowledge and love for music to my students of all ages and levels.

I work as a team with you, finding the right method that fit your needs. What is important for me is to work on a good connection with the instrument and find the right basis for the start of your violin playing.
In my violin lessons, I would like also to share with you my musical knowledge, show you recordings of great violin players, prepare with you pieces that you always wanted to play and give you the tools so you can achieve your goals in music. I like to share the general knowledge of violin playing as well as basic and intermediate music theory lessons so you can enter in the world of music, but especially to have fun!!

My lessons can be shared between violin and theory together depending on what you are looking for.

The lessons will be at my house if you are in need of an instrument we can find one for you!

I did my Bachelor at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with the teachers Maria Milstein and Eliot Lawson and completed my Masters in Performance degree with excellency as well in Amsterdam under the guidance of Liviu Prunaru and Mathieu van Bellen while studying baroque violin with Shunske Sato.

I have my own violin class in Amsterdam, and I love teaching.

I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training, I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory classes for 6 years because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. The past twenty years have been revolutionary for music production. Nowadays you can record, produce and release your own music with your laptop and some simple peripherals. This is done with a music program called a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) in which you can edit sound. But as everyone has noticed who starts such a program: it's not easy! Hundreds of buttons and menus and a specific workflow ensure that you do not just get the sound you want. I use and teach two of the most widely used DAWs: Ableton Live and Studio One, which take us through all the steps from recording sound, using samples to editing and mixing. Due to my studies at the Rock Academy and the Musicology department of the UU and my more than ten years of experience as a professional guitarist, bassist and music producer, I have extensive knowledge of all aspects of the professional field.

Let's explore together the music of the baroque era! Get to know the violin and the viola in their baroque setting- experiment with features such as gut strings and historical bows. The lessons are adapted to your wishes and needs: a beginner will have different goals than an experienced player. There is wealth of material for all levels and interests, let's find out together what's the best for you!
The core of the lesson is always the expression of music! We will work through building technique, grasping theoretical knowledge, and learning about the historical context. I want to base my lessons on playing the guitar and related instruments in a way that feels mastered and personal.

I therefore want to focus on expression, technique and the aurally malleable nature of the instrument, for example by discussing extended techniques and the use of effect pedals. I want to invite the students to learn to listen carefully to the impact of different playing techniques and audio effects.

During the lessons I want to cover different kinds of music theory, especially in an "applied" way that is valuable to the student. I also want to deal with recording and producing my own work.

Owning your own effects pedals, a guitar amplifier or recording equipment is not required for this course.

I offer violin lessons to all ages, both in person or online!
I have been teaching for the last six years in the Netherlands, I studied piano for 10 years, and I can also help with music theory!

About the lesson:

Specialized in jazz classes at least at all levels – with absolute beginners at the top of the speakers.

From 10 days to 10 days, you will be able to listen to your music via private channel without listening to music. Since March 2024 I teach at De Leerorkest in Amsterdam and De Gooische Muziekschool.

My lessons are based on fun, patience and attentive listening. I tailor each lesson to the student’s personal goals and interests – whether that’s classical music, folk music or improvisation. If you listen to some of the music you have inspired, you will be able to put the structure into effect.

I've been teaching painting and drawing for five years, both in private lessons and groups. I'm also a self-taught artist, so I know how exciting (and sometimes frustrating!) learning art can be. I've made plenty of mistakes myself, and I know what it's like to be a student. That's why I don't believe in one method for everyone.
