I'm a former New York City voice teacher/coach, professional singer and an award winning composer who has relocated to Berlin. I've taught with the most reputable children's musical theatre organizations in NYC with students of all ages as well as private students and I've worked with Broadway stars such as Laura Osnes, Karen Mason and Ron Bohmer, who have also recorded my music, and I'm excited to bring my 20 yrs of teaching experience to Berlin! I teach songwriting as well, if that is something you're interested in. I'm a classically trained singer who performed with the San Francisco Opera and other companies both in opera and musical theatre for many years. Though I specialize now in musical theatre, I am happy and comfortable teaching you to sing in whatever style you prefer. The basics are the same! In our lessons, we will work on breath, correct vowel pronunciation, placement, diction, etc... as well as getting rid of the tension and habits that keep us from singing freely and beautifully. Drums, as with bass guitar are the backbone of any good song, and the foundation upon which the music is built. Despite not being as famous as lead vocals or lead guitar. Drums in my opinion is much more fun, at all levels of performance. I will teach you how to play the drums, how to fit the style to the genre and we will learn by practice by breaking down the famous classics, and explain what part drums played to make these classics so good. We will use my electronic drumset, which is not as good as the real thing but is definitely good for starters. There are ways you can practice at home without a drumset as well. And we can expand later and rent a studio room, where I can jam with you on the guitar even!

In our composition lessons, we’ll both learn how to get more from basic elements, like pitch and rhythm, and also the things we can do to help make a composition more poetic. We can work on how to get more music from fewer ideas to create a consistent musical language, and also explore the idea of opposites in your compositions, blending and smearing contrasting elements to add depth and complexity to your work. Through the analysis of great music, the composition of miniatures, and feedback on your current projects, you’ll both increase your technical fluency and simultaneously learn to love and develop your unique voice. Hi my name is Anne. I play the violin and the viola and I have studied at the conservatory at ArtEZ Jazz & Pop. During my studies I started to build by violin teacher practice. Apart from my private students I taught at the music school "Muziekdorp" in Wijchen and coached a band of high school students for a year. Next to teaching I play concerts with the "Metropole Academy", I have a string quartet "The Four Frogs in te Woods", and I'm playing in a Folk string duo. Students of all ages and categories are welcome in my lesson. Classical, Folk, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and free improvisation are some of the genres you can discover in our lessons.
