After doing A-levels in biology, chemistry and Physics I completed a MSc (Hons) in Biotechnology and then a PGCE. I have been teaching for ten years and have completed my QTS. I teach both Chemistry and Biology. As a teacher it’s important to me that my students enjoy chemistry and science. I use a variety of teaching methods to improve their understanding and build their enthusiasm. Biology Chemistry and Mathematics are all hard subjects at GCSE and A-level. I hope to cover the whole specification to identify students' weaknesses, then focus time on these topics through example questions and walk-throughs. I then use past paper questions so the student can consolidate their learning through exam-style questions.

I am a PhD student studying Chemistry at Imperial College London. I like helping students understand concepts and improve their grades, which is why I signed up to be a tutor.

During my A-level years, I was also selected as a Chemistry mentor to assist one of my peers. This reinforced my understanding of A-level Chemistry, and was a valuable teaching experience. It was especially rewarding to see my peer's grade improving from a D during the preliminaries to a B for A levels.

I have also been tutoring A-level student throughout my undergraduate studies, and have been in charge of delivering university tutorial lessons.
