Singing lessons with certified teacher. Improve breaks, range and power.
From 96 £ /h
Feeling like you're not using the full potential of your voice? I'm a certified voice teacher and I can help you with that. I am part of a worldwide voice community, The Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA) and I am regularly receiving training and being tested to be the best singing teacher I can be for you.
Some of the teachers in this community I am part of, teach big names of the music industry. I have learnt directly from them. That means that when we have a lesson, you will be getting the same training as stars like Brandon Flowers (The Killers), Seal, Dan Reynolds (Imagine Dragons), Barbara Streisand, Michael Jackson, Brendon Urie (Panic! at the disco) many broadway artists and singers from all possible music styles have learnt with.
In our lessons I will analyze your voice, define a goal for the lesson and trace a plan to achieve that goal. Then we will do vocal exercises that work almost like going to the gym, but for the muscles inside your larynx. Finally we will go through song application, and since I am also a singer/songwriter with a career of more than 10 years, I can help you with interpretation and stylistic choices.
I want to help you start loving all aspects of your own voice. Working with what you have and improving what you can improve, never forgetting the most important thing which is to enjoy the experience of singing.

About Me
Hi! My name is Nathaje. I am a singer/songwriter, working professionally with music since 2006, and a certified singing teacher from The Institute for Vocal Advancement (IVA).
I was born and raised in Brazil, moved to Switzerland in 2015 and finally to London in 2021 where I am currently based. I grew up with a strong musical atmosphere at home. I had piano lessons from a young age, took drama, guitar and singing lessons for many years. I have performed often and with many different musicians and musical styles, from small and intimate gigs to large concerts. I was also a lead singer in band from a TV show in Brazil, touring all over the country.
I compose my own songs and have 3 fully original studio albums recorded. My album "Heal" (2019) was streamed over half a million times and my music video for "Follow the Light", the first single of that album, is on MTV Germany. You can check all my songs out on Spotify, Youtube... everywhere really.
Why do I teach? I always loved teaching, so it came as a natural path for me to follow. Since I was a little kid I had a passion for simplifying things and finding thousands of different ways of explaining something until the person would finally get it. I believe nothing is too difficult to learn, if you manage to find an easy way of teaching it.
In 2009 and 2010 I was performing 15 times per month, for big audiences (thousands of people). That was when I realised the other methods of singing were not helping me. I was constantly struggling to keep up with the demands of a high energy pop/rock concert, and my voice was not prepared for that. The high notes felt impossible to sing, unless they were too light and boring. I was pushing, squeezing, and hurting my voice.
I had lessons with 8 different teachers, and all they told me to do was to "support", to breathe, to do the scales... it wasn't working.
Thankfully in 2013 I found out about the IVA methodology, searching for speech level singing technique. I started my training with them then and I never stopped. IVA's method has helped me so much that I decided to join the teacher's program in 2016 and since then I have been helping other singers and voice professionals with their own voices.
The beauty of this method is that is very science based, and we are a big community of 300+ teachers around the globe, so you won't be simply taking my word for it. Our ear training allows us to hear how your muscle function is working, and we adapt the exercises and the lesson flow specifically for your voice at that point in time. That means that no 2 lessons are the same.
Because I also have studio and stage experience, I can help you with that too! I have helped students start composing and recording their own songs, or cover songs. I have all the professional equipment and acoustic treatment in my studio to record your vocals, and I work side by side with producers for you to have an industry standard quality track.
I love being geeky about the voice, but singing is way beyond applying the correct technique. Music is art, and as an artist myself I understand the need to focus on the emotions and the expressiveness of our voices, and to use the technique to support that, to free and increase our range of possible vocal choices.
Singing, just like any other skill, is something that, the more you exercise, the better you get. So if you think you don't have enough "talent" it might just be you haven't spent enough time doing it. If you don't find your voice beautiful, it might just be you haven't explored all the possible sounds you can make. Every instrument is beautiful in their own way. You wouldn't say a guitar has an ugly sound. Maybe the guitar player couldn't get the best sound out of that guitar, that's all.
I want to help start loving all aspects of your own voice, working with what you have and improving what you can improve, never forgetting the most important thing which is to enjoy the experience of singing.
