Trusted teacher: Madalene is an internationally renowned vocalist (having performed as Maddee, Madeleine and Darshan) with extensive experience in voice coaching and teaching the art of songwriting. She studied vocal teaching, songwriting, art history and musical performance with the Berklee College of Music (USA), the Open University (UK) and the University of Oslo (Norway). She gained her higher qualifications in contemporary music performance with the University of West London. I am specialized in preparing students for the various academic qualifications in vocal performance (recital) offered by the London College of Music Examinations (LCME) of the University of West London. The diplomas cover a range of the first-year undergraduate to master level qualifications, all fully accredited in the UK and carrying transferable academic credits for use at other (international) universities. Exams consist of a performance element, counting for 80%, and a short demonstration of theoretical knowledge (discussion, sight-reading or program notes, depending on the diploma). The diplomas are: - The Diploma of the London College of Music (DipLCM) in vocal performance recital is of an equivalent standard to a 1st-year undergraduate module (RQF Level 4, EQF Level 5) and the performance element is examined through a 25-30 minutes performance. The diploma is worth 90 CATS (the British equivalent of 45 ECTS) academic credits. - The Associate of the London College of Music (ALCM) in vocal performance recital is of an equivalent standard to a 2nd-year undergraduate module (RQF and EQF Level 5) and the performance element is examined through a 35-40 minutes performance. The diploma is worth 120 CATS (the British equivalent of 60 ECTS) academic credits. - The Licentiate of the London College of Music (LLCM) in vocal performance recital is of an equivalent standard to a final year undergraduate module (RQF and EQF Level 6) and the performance element is examined through a 45-50 minutes performance. The diploma is worth 180 CATS (British equivalent of 90 ECTS) academic credits. - The Fellow of the London College of Music (FLCM) in vocal performance is of an equivalent standard to a Masters module (RQF and EQF Level 7) and the performance element is examined through a 50-60 minutes performance. The diploma is worth 225 CATS (the British equivalent of 112.5 ECTS) academic credits. In all cases, candidates are required to achieve 75% to attain the diploma qualification. Exam preparation will consist of approximately 30 hours of private online tuition by me, depending on your current level. Do note that entry requirements may apply, so feel free to contact me for advice on this. In the UK, LCM's diploma examinations are regulated by Ofqual, Qualifications Wales and CCEA at Levels 4 to 7 of the Regulated Qualifications Framework. The diplomas are also included in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). Additionally, LCM diplomas in music are mapped against the BMus and MMus Performance / Composition degree courses at the University of West London, which are validated by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA). BMus and MMus students who hold an LCM diploma are automatically eligible to bypass the relevant module or modules on the degree course. Other degree-awarding institutions (including those outside the UK) may, on a discretionary basis, accept LCM diplomas as Approved Prior Learning (APL) on a similar basis. This may assist in your admittance to degree studies at a conservatory or university and possibly provide dispensation for certain modules in your further studies. Even if you are not interested in obtaining an academic qualification, feel free to approach me for private online singing and/or songwriting lessons. The hourly fee for this is published elsewhere on this page. Experience She was one of the original members of the 90s UK hit band ‘Steps’, supported other artists on tour and went on to have a successful solo career; she reached top positions in dance and club music charts with her hit single ‘Follow Love’, which she co-wrote. Madalene was the first-ever foreign act to win a Malta Music Award, in 2010, and she supported Peter Andre at the 2013 edition. She has appeared regularly at music concerts and talent competitions across Europe and Asia, both as a performer and/or panel judge. After making good on an invitation by the BBC to give an in-house concert at the Golders Green Hippodrome Studios, Madalene was asked to return for a recording session at the BBC Maida Vale studios. Over the years she has been a frequent guest on radio programs, promoting music education and discussing developments in the music industry.

Trusted teacher: This is a hands-on surgical exploration into what great songs are and how to create them - from lyrics to music. Great songs are not merely popular songs, or catchy songs, or best-selling songs - great songs are enduring creations that stand the test of time, and which cross all boundaries of genre and style. In order to create them, we need a unique combination of skills and sensitivities - the ability to execute our ideas effectively on an accompaniment instrument of our choice, whether piano, guitar, organ, harp or other almost always polyphonic (multiple sounding) instruments - but equally the ability to craft poetic and compelling lyrics that are neither cliche nor predictable, and not least, the ability to create effective rhyme patterns without compromising either the original intent or flow of the song. In truth, creating a great song is as or more difficult than creating a great story, because it requires the meeting and melding of word and music in a mutually resonant way. In this quest, the class will enlighten beginning as well as seasoned songwriters on harmonic vocabularies available to them, basic musical resources such as rhythmic figures and variation techniques, basic and advanced song structures, from Bach to the Beatles to Bernstein, and perfecting the art of lyric-writing. Students will learn both fundamental notations so they may present their songs in a true musical format, as well as short cuts enabling them to sketch ideas in a simple form when in the heat of creation. Vocal ranges, transposing, vocal and instrumental ranges will be addressed so that students create songs capable of being sung by either professionals or amateurs.

Trusted teacher: I am a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music has been featured in publications such as The Huffington Post, BBC and WRAL. I have written and co-written songs that have accumulated tens of millions of streams. I am represented by Kobalt/AWAL (Lauv, Bruno Major, Tom Misch), Maximal Music Sync (Candi Staton, North Star Media), Music Table South Korea, and Sixtyfour Music London and have co-written with Richard Walters (Declan J Donovan, 3lau, Alison Moyet, Grey's Anatomy, CSI) and breakout Dutch artist Judy Blank. Alongside releasing my own material, I am also a session pianist, writer and guitar player who has worked for many clients in studios both in Europe and the States, as well as on tours worldwide including major festival slots and tours in the UK, Europe and the States. ---------- I primarily am interested in teaching people to develop their own sense of artistic identity, and am keen to mentor pupils who are already making headway in their own progress as a musician or in the music industry. I am able to offer key insights into the industry that many other teachers aren't able to, and I am passionate about people who are passionate about music. I consider my experience incredibly valuable to those serious about making headway in the industry and see my classes to be more of a personal and bespoke teaching service than traditional piano/guitar lessons, and have a slightly higher price point accordingly. I have also achieved Grade 8 (ABRSM) in piano. I am moving back to Vienna in April, and will be taking on students from mid-April onwards. ---------- I have been tutoring for the past 6 years, and have had pupils of all skill levels and ages. I have taken pupils through traditional grading in the UK (both ABRSM and Rockschool) and also taught people who are only interested in learning an instrument vocationally. Over these years I have helped pupils develop proficiency and passion in piano, guitar, songwriting, production, as well as offering advice on booking tours, forming bands, and helping develop a sense of musical identity. ---------- My approach to each client is unique, but I primarily focus on encouraging artistic expression and open communication in my sessions. I value the ability to give others the opportunity to create, and I like to treat my lessons as a safe space for ideas, for singing, for performing, and for chatting about all things musical. I look forward to hearing from you.

I had a great experience with Fritz. Ive been trying to learn music production by myself at home, so I came to him with some knowledge. However, I was never able to finish a song before having classes with him, because everything was very disorganised in my head and I had no idea on how to reach that goal. Fritz showed me techniques, helped me organise in my head what ive learned by myself at home and explained me new topics. I think he's a great teacher because he can understand what do u need and what do u want to learn, and build a clear path that will lead you there.

Yoichi is an amazing pianist. As someone with no experience playing Jazz, I found the first lesson very helpful. He brought lead sheets and explained how Jazz music is performed, walked me through some chord structures and gave me some structure for developing a practice routine. He was also very accommodating about our meeting location. I'm looking forward to future lessons with him.
