Performing with London Philharmonic Orchestra and other professional ensembles. I started playing the violin when I was 5 years old, and throughout my musical education I've been extremely lucky to study with generous teachers and masters. They not only passed on the knowledge of the violinistic technique, but also sparked my musical imagination and taught me how to listen to, understand and perform music from different ages of history. Over the past years, I approached music education from both a theoretical and practical point of view. During my Erasmus at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2016, I attended the Teaching Skills Course. It helped me to understand the many mechanisms of a performer’s thought processes and, consequently, to adjust my teaching method to each student. In 2016, being a member of Southbank Sinfonia enabled me to gain experience working with instrumentalists, mentoring young musicians at Glyndebourne, Vaughan Memorial School and Thomas's Battersea School. In 2014, I graduated in Pedagogical Studies at the Academy of Music in Cracow (2014). This diploma included psychology, pedagogy, didactics, voice projection, violin teaching methods and an internship at a music high school as a Violin Teacher. Among my recent teaching experiences, in August 2019 I gave masterclasses at the Krzysztof Penderecki European Centre for Music, working with musicians of the Penderecki Youth Orchestra. During the same period, I taught musicians of the NOR59 Strykeinstitutt Orchestra in Oslo. Recently I have been selected to be an Ambassador with The Benedetti Foundation in London. Orchestral experience: • London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Festival Hall, London • Southbank Sinfonia 2016, Concertmaster and Leader; ’Side by side’ with Academy of St Martin in the Fields
and Royal Opera House; Cadogan Hall London, Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London, Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall, London, Notre Dame de Paris, France, BBC Radio 3 London • Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra • YPHIL International Philharmonic Orchestra Leader; Carnegie Hall, Stern Auditorium, Perelman Stage, New York; Symphony Space, New York • Sinfonia Varsovia, 36. Trusted teacher: Approach to Teaching – I favour a structured approach. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs. – Violin lessons tend to be carefully planned to focus on specific technical aspects of performance. To train musicality, I often teach this through the use of Kreutzer and Fiorillo etudes, Dont studies, and also pieces of repertoire catered to the student's musical interests and technical requirements. – I am open to considering student repertoire suggestions if they are particularly passionate about a certain piece. Lesson Structure – Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters for a student's requirements. Credentials – I am a Musicology PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge. – I have worked as a private violin teacher for 7 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training, to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills. – I have performed at West Road Concert Hall (University of Cambridge), The Lee Tseng Hall (Wolfson College Cambridge), Buxton International Festival, Manchester International Festival, and The Bridgewater Hall. – I have an extensive portfolio of performing credits on documentary films; recent highlights include the docuseries on Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein 'House of Maxwell' (BBC2, 2022), and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021). Trusted teacher: Hello and thank you for visiting this website! I'm an established, qualified, and experienced violin teacher who has worked in London for the last 26 years. I'm now back in Belgium for some new musical adventures, as well as to meet new students. I welcome students from the age of four to adults. I have a real passion for transmitting my love of music, and I like to have a creative, playful and holistic approach to teaching. I also play the piano and often use it for aural training or to accompany my students (or do violin duets). I do believe that music is not just for competitions or exams but a skill for life that can bring tremendous joy, discoveries, friends and fun along the way. Learning an instrument is also a great way to foster different qualities such as patience, diligence, presence, resilience, deep listening and the ability to express and share our emotions with others. Having explored many different violin methods and styles, I take a different approach according to each student. I like to teach a solid classical technique with some scales, studies and pieces, but there are many different ways to make music enjoyable or find other paths depending on the student's goal. Although I was trained classically in Belgian Conservatoires and the Guildhall School of Music, I do like to teach a variety of music that is not just classical (Celtic, world, klezmer, jazz, tango, film music, pop...). I often encourage my students to compose or improvise freely. In the last two decades, I have led many youth orchestras and violin workshops and worked for many different primary and secondary schools in England. I'm a member of the European String Teachers Association. I’m looking forward to meeting you, please don’t hesitate to contact me for more information.

Trusted teacher: Hi there, I'm a professional violin and viola teacher, teaching in person and online, in English, German or Russian. Alongside teaching 1:1 and coaching chamber music over the last 12 years, I've led numerous workshops, including ‘Music First’ and ‘Music Masters’ in the UK and taught on the Primary and Senior Arpeggione Viola Courses run by Jacky Woods, coaching some of the UK’s leading young musicians. As a member of the European String Teachers’ Association, I have participated in ESTA conferences across Europe, including at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, and in Valletta, Europe’s cultural capital in 2018. I regularly prepare his students for auditions, competitions and exams at all levels, and has a holistic teaching style incorporating music theory, aural and sight reading skills and physical awareness. Many of my students have won regional and national competitions and have been accepted into specialist music schools and youth orchestras. Outside of teaching, I performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, recently including at Kings Place London, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Philharmonie Berlin. I received first prize at the Małopolska competition, the Barbirolli Prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition and the Len Lickorish Memorial Prize at the Royal Overseas League International Strings Competition. I hold a Masters degree with first class honours from the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin, where I studied with Tabea Zimmermann, and the University of Arts, where I studied with Lawrence Power, as well as a Bachelors degree with the same distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where I began in the primary department 20 years ago. If you'd like to know more or have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch or have a look at my website and video. ** Reviews Below **

Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate. He has allowed my son to chose music that if fun and interesting to practice, even though the pieces are challenging. We are located many time zones away from Toby, and the virtual lessons do not hinder our experience with him. In fact, I often sit in to listen to the lessons, as they are so good. My son has had a couple of lessons with Toby while company has been over, and everyone has commented on how amazing Toby is as an instructor. I can not recommend Toby enough and hope to continue lessons with him for a long time.

My private violin lesson with Ester was absolutely perfect. I had a privilege to hear Ester play her violin and she is so good- it is crazy to think I was able to learn from her. She is also such a good teacher. Full of knowlege and patience- which is, in my opinion, a rare combination. I had no prior musical education and this was my first real music lesson. Ester managed to teach me basic note reading, correct violin holding and even playing my first tunes. Her explainations are very clear and easy to understand. And her approach is very friendly. She is also a very nice person and easy to talk to. I wish we lived in the same city so I could keep studying playing violin with Ester- that's how good she is. Lidia

My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour. Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks!
