I am an experienced guitar tutor teaching lessons face-to-face and online. I also cater to groups. I have been a musician for over 20 years and have been teaching guitar for over 10 years, giving me a vast range of knowledge, teaching methodologies, and learning resources. This class is specific to children as it fosters a love of music and music creation via easy-to-learn and play tunes, notation reading and developing ear skills. Learning music and guitar at a young age is a wonderful way to learn a new skill which boosts confidence, teaches effort and rewards relationships, creates discipline, and helps children take pride in their achievements and performances. We will learn the fundamentals of playing the guitar, focusing on developing good techniques across both the left and right hand enabling faster growth and easier self-directed study. We will learn a selection of short tunes/melodies, chords and some sight reading. Grades are an option for those interested but my main aim is to bring the joy of guitar to the lessons! For any age and at any level - I will prepare piano lessons that are easy to understand, fun and engaging for the student! Whether you want to learn casually, or you're preparing for a big competition or exam, I am fully prepared to help you succeed. I am happy to teach either classical or pop, and am happy to teach anywhere: the student's location, my location, or a webcam - whatever is easiest and comfortable. These classes will include exercises for technicality, as well as learning the context and history of pieces/songs, and creative interpretations.

I am an advanced level, grade 8 saxophonist with over ten years of experience playing in bands. I have a track record of providing excellent teaching over a range of subjects, including music theory and drumming. I have also taught in children's art groups. I am a recently graduated student in English Literature and I'm looking to teach in the future, so this would be an excellent opportunity for me to teach saxophone to beginners.
