During his studies, he trained with world-renowned artists such as Peter Bernstein, Pasquale Grasso, Jesse van Ruller, Dick Oatts, Mike LeDonne, Grant Stewart, Carl Allen and Bruce Barth, among others, gaining a deep understanding of jazz tradition while exploring a more contemporary approach to improvisation. His co-led project, The Dam Jawn, released its debut album Master St. (2023, Challenge Records), featuring jazz legend Dick Oatts. The album, nominated for the Edison Jazz Award 2024, was presented in Europe and India, including performances in Mumbai, Goa, and Bangalore. I decided to enter into the guitar world at age of 35. I found Nikola on this site and I feel lucky since I found the will and the passion I was looking for from time. I was almost sure playing guitar is something you start since you are a kid, but I was wrong. Thank you to Nikola in only 1 lesson at time gave me the right "charge" to go on in this journey. In only one year I see significant results. (I can confess, a lot of hard work from my side :) but the starting moment was decisive). When I started taking classes with Yosif, I was a bit concerned because I haven't played guitar in 7 years. But he was a very patient and understanding teacher, and helped me regain the abilities I have already had from my former experience and improve my technique. He was very flexible (and spontaneous) with the schedule, which was great for me as I couldn't always plan ahead. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher!
