I was lucky enough to work for FunKeys For Kids: that gave the chance to do peripatetic teaching and work with kids. And definitely there is nothing better than trying to show the passion for music. I believe lessons should be first and foremost enjoyable, but also serve as a means to break new ground and inspire as much practice as possible at home! So we'll start by establishing an objective of the student's choice that reflects their ambitions, and then work through the appropriate techniques, exercises, and repertoire that allows us to get there in as enjoyable a way as possible! Lessons will be supplemented with listening/aural exercises, music theory training, and performance/contextual discussions (if necessary!).

Lessons are usually 3/4hr or one hour. Please see my profile for more information on my approach. I have very limited availability at the moment but if it's online lessons I have more than the calendar shows. The class is tailored to the individual but in general technique and musicality go hand in hand. I am strong on the reading of music as this gives the student all the necessary tools to read so many different genres of music... and to then be free of music if that is the goal.

Music has always been a huge part of my life and I would be thrilled to pass on my knowledge. I studied music at university and have Grade 8 in both piano and vocals, but I have also performed in many different venues across the UK. I have helped previous students with stage-fright and anxiety with performing as well as aiding them learn their favourite songs on piano - and singing along at the same time. I can teach in many different piano styles from popular music to classical and I can also teach music theory. I have a deep passion for traditional, holistic yogic practises and I understand that large classes can be overwhelming. I have found that Yoga is very individual, and with gentle 1:1 guidance, has lots room for personal growth. I can teach poses, breathing techniques and meditation to help us feel the best we can. All my lessons will be tailored to each student, we will discuss together the goals of the practise, and provide the balance of learning, but also making it fun and enjoyable and a space to relax.
