As flash education is the new trend on the web, I try to identify myself as someone that does not take pride in giving "tips&tricks" classes rather to build toghether a path towards nolt only the understanding of the musical concepts, but towards their discovery. Through the use of Ableton Live I will cover music theory and it's appplication to the digital and analog world, exploring electronic and acoustic music, providing by time to time free tools and subsequent explanaition on how to use them, to build not only an in depth knowledge, but an efficient workflow. Having thaught in universities, it is clear to me that the path to learn cannot be a series of discontinued classes. For that reason I spur you to send me a message and organise up to 60 minutes of consultation, so to craft the ideal path to you. Whether is understanding of music theory ( Which I will refer to during classes as black magic ), or understanding all the steps and knowledge that are needed to start and finish a track. The classes will be on zoom and at the end of it I will provide you the recording of each class so that you can keep track of whatever we did at all times. Including after we will be finished :)

I have been practicing MAO (computer-assisted music) for more than ten years, notably within a Techno music group in which I was able to train in sound engineering with a qualified engineer. of INFA. I was also able to perfect my approach to composition by training with a teacher at the American School of modern music Paris. I'm part of a Techno duo Sana + Nasa (more recently renamed "AZA:ZEL"). We are in the artist catalog of the booking agency La Quarantaine, our music has been published on labels such as SCTR, Carcères Records, Jaelos and Afterhours and we have had the privilege of playing several times in Paris, Berlin and Zagreb. I also had the opportunity to do podcasts on The Techno Children and Eletronic Subculture and finally on television on Clubbing TV (international broadcast) I started teaching music (electronic music and guitar) in 2019 and I regularly give lessons to around ten students, both girls and boys! I also have a pedagogical degree and 2 years of experience in which I taught music composition, musical forms, poliphony, orchestration, music theory and solfege at the National University of Music from Bucharest. In 2022 I finished a 2nd Master's Degree in Film Music Composition at the ZHdK. This class is for both beginners who want to compose music as a hobby and to aspiring professional composers. The main topic of my doctoral thesis was the compositional idea and the processes involved in the creative undertakings. How does one reach the final stage of a composition from just a few ideas? How can we improve this endeavour? What strategies and techniques are needed in order to do that? The class will be customized for each student so in order to achieve a certain objective in music composition the lessons can include elements of music theory, harmony, poliphony, orchestration, improvisation, music notation (Finale & Dorico) and music production (StudioOne). Although solfege and improvisation are extremely useful (I dare say even indispensable) for a professional composer, they can also be means to an end for passionate music lovers. Solfege and strategies that come with it can help your singing and music sight reading. And improvisation is such a fun and relaxing activity that I think everybody should do it!

My son just had his first piano lesson with Joel and he loved it. When the hour was finished my son felt a bit disappointed as he wanted to continue and said the class had gone by super fast. After Joel left our house my son told me he would really like to continue taking lessons with him as he felt he learned a lot and had a lot of fun. I personally liked Joel’s communication and professionalism when scheduling the class, and the planning of the curriculum going forward. I think my son will learn a lot from his classes with him.

I had a great first lesson using Ableton! Niki spent time helping me with my equipment set-up and also went through some of the settings with me. He explained things very clearly, answered my questions and showed me some of the basic things necessary to find my way as a beginner using Ableton. I now have a few things to try out and I'm excited to start experimenting and seeing what I can record. Thanks Niki!

This was my first time taking music production lessons, and Riza goes through the basic fundamentals of the software and music-making process. He adapts to your level and the difficulties you encounter. He gives you feedback on what to adjust and correct, as well as giving examples. I would definitely recommend him for anyone wanting to try electronic music-making.
