I am a Manchester based actress and I have been working professionally in the Musical Theatre industry for 10 years after graduating from Laine Theatre Arts in 2015. I have been lucky enough to travel the world as a Lead Vocalist and perform in several plays, pantomimes, musicals and commercials. Edgar’s experience in teaching adults means that he is well aware of the difficulties with balancing learning a new skill with working full-time, so he makes sure to take each individual student’s personal circumstances and work schedule into account when organising lessons. I have a Bachelor degree in Orchestral Instrumentalist and I'm currently undertaking a Master degree of Music in Performance. As a Music teacher,my goal is to keep students challenged, but not overwhelmed. I assign homework after every lesson and provide periodic progress reports. I adapt my lessons to each student, because each student is different.

I always encourage my students to practice no matter if they are learning for hobby or for possible future studies. I always adjust my lessons to the needs of the student. I teach grades when students when to give their exams. I also encourage the Suzuki method as I believe it has a wide range of knowledge and repertoire and builds a strong musicianship. If the level of some students is higher and they are interested in studying music, I will try teach more like a conservatoire method, using piano repertoire only, studies if need to, to help the student build up her/his pianistic and musical skills at the best. I always try to give feedback to my students about their work within a specific period and also I often ask them their opinion on a new suggestion of a piece or idea I might have. Mainly I do that to understand what each student needs and wants to learn and accordingly make my plan of the lessons. When I see a student is more independent, musically, I give them choices between pieces and give them tasks to decide on their own. In my teaching methods I include online tutoring. I started teaching online when I moved outside London and kept some of my teaching. It is a very different approach but a very fun one too. Especially at these times we are right now, I find significant to keep sharing our knowledge with young children. It is important to keep inspiring people and especially young kids with music. That way we encourage each other that life will soon get better and the situation shouldn't let affect our lives.

As a piano player, you will learn how to perform in notes, rhythm, dynamics, notation in a good posture and hand shape based on specific music to grow the ability of great understanding of music. The courses given are around piano teaching, and also helping students to practice effectively based on their own learning plan.

Drummers are the backbone to all musical groups.Whether it be in rock, pop, jazz, funk or Latin music, the drummer upholds the groove and the rhythmic feel of the music. We are a powerful instrument and while we are sometimes left at the back of the stage, our presence is always felt. We are musicians rarer and more in demand than most others meaning our world has got plenty of space for more of us. In this class you can learn how play the drums along to your favourite songs, as well as learning rudiments, improvisation and many other useful musical and drumming skills. I personally specialise in funk drumming but am more than capable of teaching other genres like rock and pop. If you are a beginner or intermediate drummer, we can go through the Rockschool grades and prepare you for exams. Otherwise you are welcome to learn by playing whatever it is that has inspired you. My experience as a drummer ranges from performing in bars to teaching groups of over five children. This summer I worked as a drum teacher in an American camp for two months where I would teach children from the ages 8-16. In the last year I’ve also been playing gigs with my band where we would play a mixture of funk, soul, blues jazz with a bit of pop. When I was younger I also completed my Grade 8 with distinction which is why I recommend grades as a fun quick way to progress quickly.
