I have been passionate about philosophy since I was very young, and recently I have been able to formalize my passion by completing higher education with a pedagogical orientation. I understand that philosophy can be understood in three senses: a pragmatic sense, directly useful in daily life; a theoretical sense, rather useful for epistemological development (indirectly useful in life); a useless sense, that is, a philosophy that is useless, since its ultimate goal is itself. I specialize in Logic and Argumentation Theory and in the history of ancient philosophy, but I span across the entire corpus of academically known philosophical theory. I teach my classes taking into account these three approaches, which means treating the discipline from history, psychology, logic and other subjects, as well as from each person's own life experience. I went to college for Traditional Eastern Arts, with a concentration in Tai Chi. During my time at college, I studied Eastern Philosophy including Taoism (Daoism), Buddhism, and Hinduism. Since graduating I have taught multiple people Tai Chi, meditation and discussed Eastern Philosophy. I continue to study Eastern Religions and continue to meditate. Most of these experiences have been with small groups or 1 on 1. My approach to teaching is to meet the student where they are. I start every class with a small meditation practice, then jump into the topic of the day. During my first class, I will see what the student already knows and start with the basics of Eastern Philosophy then move into the religions. After they have the groundwork, I will start comparing them to Western Religions. My approach is extremely agnostic without pushing an religious agenda.

This course is aimed at readers of Portuguese-language literature who wish to find an interlocutor to build a dialogue that can explain the modern and existential philosophy present in specific literary works. The proposal is to explore the nuances of a spoken essay about the perceptions obtained during the reading of significant literary works, with the book Grande Sertão: Veredas, by Guimarães Rosa, being selected for this course. Here, we will seek to understand the intricacies of the plot, deepen the analysis of the characters and unveil the layers of meaning present in the work that constructed it, aiming to enrich the literary experience and expand our understanding of existential philosophy. This is a class that also offers the opportunity to practice speaking Portuguese, and is welcome for those who wish to improve their understanding and oral expression as a practice of a language.

Oral Communication This course emphasizes the development of fluency and intelligibility in spoken English. Through individual and group activities, students work on improving pronunciation, practicing conversation strategies and delivering oral presentations.

The subject focuses on the concept of 'Bardo' embedded within a Buddhist cosmological framework. Basic terms and concepts of Buddhist cosmology will be introduced and discussed, so beginners should not face any difficulty to follow. The "Bardo" as an intermediate state of reality has made thorough impact in the West through the Tibetan funerary text of Bardo Thodol ( the Great Liberation through Hearing in the Intermediate state) and Evans-Wentz's translated text, the so-called "The Tibetan Book of the Dead". A number of commentaries have been piled upon the original content and particularly Jung's commentary approaches the subject at a psycho-cosmological level. As part of our classes, we will also discuss Jung's commentary to the text to understand the reception of the original bardo concept in the western intellectual history. Throughout the fascinating journey of pluralistic realities and the cosmic drama of birth-death-rebirth, the class will take up a contemplative and critical thinking form of engagement, where there will be ample opportunities to question the basic matrix of reality, ordinary experiences and also key concepts from intellectual history. I have 600+ hours of experience as a tutor, studied English at Oxford, have a Masters in Philosophy and I’m a historical novelist. I help students at GCSE & A Level who are struggling with humanities subjects ahead of their exams.
