I'm a musician, composer and producer from the UK with more than 20 yrs teaching experience.
I give classes for guitar, bass guitar, theory, composition, arranging, mixing and production in English with intermediate Spanish.

I have my own approach to teaching drawn from my own inspirational teachers and the experience of teaching, performing and recording for over 30 years.

I adapt to the needs and goals of the student, but a typical 1st year class for guitar would involve focusing on a variety of pieces in different styles and suggestions of any helpful technical exercises, reading, rhythm playing, expanding chord/harmony knowledge and supporting theory. In time I would include new techniques as required by the piece and style and improvisation/composition to follow the student’s interest.

I have developed an accelerated program with the goal of the student playing their favourite pieces as soon as possible. My constant aim is to find the right balance between student motivation and a thorough musical grounding, equipping the student for the future.

As a guitarist and composer, I’ve been on a musical journey most of my life. I’d be happy to help you on your journey in any way that I can, whether you’re starting out or further along the road. Whatever you need guidance on: technique, music theory, improvisation or writing/producing; my goal in every case is to equip students with the skills & knowledge they need to play the music they want as soon as possible and providing the tools to be independent musicians in the future.

Experience / Qualifications

I studied classical guitar with Vincent Lindsey-Clark and composition with Sebastian Forbes at University of Surrey, UK.

I played acoustic guitars with the Andy Raven Band playing ‘Urban Folk’ music and electric guitar with bands including: Recent Fiction, Nebula, COMA Oxford plus other cover bands and session work. Stylistically from indie-pop to prog rock, folk, jazz, blues and experimental contemporary music.

I’ve taught all styles of guitar and bass to children and adults in the UK for 20 years, privately and in schools.

I owned Broadhurst Studios in Hampshire, where I recorded and produced local bands and artists for 5 yrs.

For 3 years I taught recording and music production at Trinity College, Newbury.

As a composer, I’ve written music for dance company commissions, toured internationally, and designed sound, sometimes with my original music for various film and media projects.  Recently I've written and produced my own songs.

I am a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, where I lived for 12 years. As well as my private lessons, I currently teach at Conservatoire of Barcelona to advanced pupils and at the British College of Gava to beginners pupils.

Individual lessons enables me to tailor and adapt my teaching to every pupil's needs; helping them to learn the repertoire or skills that each individual requires. I cover styles such as classical, pop, jazz and contemporary and I am also happy with pupils who don't necessarily want to learn how to read music (solfege).

A flamenco guitar course in private classes is an incredibly enriching experience. During these classes, I will completely focus on you and your goals as a flamenco guitarist.

Pierpaolo is a guitarist and composer born in 1995 from central Italy (Le Marche, Recanati). At the age of 12 he picked up a classical guitar for the first time (which he still owns) and since then he has not stopped playing, practicing and inventing with it. He currently lives in Barcelona (Spain) where he mainly teaches rock, jazz and flamenco. In fact, his studies range from jazz (he has 2 degrees in jazz guitar) to flamenco. In Barcelona Pierpaolo attends the ESMUC conservatory. "I am Pierpaolo, a professional guitarist with a Bachelor and Master's degree in Jazz Guitar (110 cum laude) and with experience studying other styles such as blues, rock, pop, funk, latin, fusion, flamenco. I have 10 years of experience as a teacher and have played at many festivals and events as a guitarist, in ensembles ranging from solo guitar to orchestra and big band.
