BerinCLEP Exam Biology Preparation with Experienced Teacher
Hi everyone! I have been teaching private courses in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics for 9 years. It is my passion to prepare my students for the future with school and exam studies. When I won the Anatolian Teacher High School in Istanbul in 2008 and Boğaziçi University in 2012, my biggest goal was to be a reliable role model for my students in the future. I am very happy that I have now made this dream come true since the year I entered university. Until this time, I have taught private lessons at secondary, high school and university level to numerous students from Turkey and abroad. I still continue to give private lessons on the online platform and teach Physics at an International School in Istanbul where California Education Standards (Cognia) are adopted. It is my passion to prepare my students for the future with school and exam studies. I am currently teaching for SAT Exam Preparation. SAT Subject Tests includes Physics, Math, Chemistry and Biology. I can teach both IB and American Curriculum as well. I teach my lessons on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom, depending on the student' request. Inquiry Based Learning which I have adopted as a teaching method; it enables me to teach lessons based on inquiry and always keeping the student & teacher dialogue dynamic. I strive to progress depending on the age and level of the student. For this, I aim to explain myself, the way I study and understand my student's expectations and level. After the level has been determined, it is of great importance for me that the student knows the lesson plan and draft as well and adheres to the jointly agreed schedule. I share pdfs and documents that I have prepared before the class and use the books by Pearson, Serway, Nowicki, Sarquis and so on for University & Secondary School Level. For Middle School, I use HMH Science Modules etc. I do emphasize the importance on giving homework/assignment and return as giving ''feedforwards'' for my students. As someone in love with her job, it is my greatest motivation to direct the students to professions they can do with love. In this course, you will be able to learn following contents: Ch 1. Introduction to Organic Chemistry Ch 2. Cell Biology Ch 3. How Enzymes Work Ch 4. Basics of DNA & RNA Ch 5. Process of DNA Replication Ch 6. The Transcription and Translation Process Ch 7. Physiology I: The Circulatory, Respiratory, Digestive, Excretory, and Musculoskeletal Systems Ch 13. Physiology II: The Nervous, Immune, and Endocrine Systems Ch 14. Animal Reproduction and Development Ch 15. Biology of Genetics Ch 16. Principles of Ecology Ch 17. Natural Resources & Environmental Impact Ch 18. Speciation & Evolution Ch 19. The Study of Life On Earth Ch 20. Classification of Organisms Overview Ch 21. Social Biology Ch 22. Analyzing Scientific Data
ElmeInternational Baccalaureate Biology Standard Level (SL, IB)
I passed the IB diploma program for Biology Standard Level with full marks, I also received a 7 on my Internal Assessment (IA). I have a very good grasp on what the IB expects from it's students (all the weird and wonderful little criteria.) I have a very good grasp on Biology the subject itself, as it was one of my favorite classes and I understand the concepts on a broader and more minute scale, so I can help students to understand the topics as well as the specifics and how they all play into one another. I aim to provide students with not just the memorization of information in a somewhat robotic sense, but an actual understanding and comfortable grasp on all the topics, ideas and concepts. I can help with any homework or course work provided, including providing feedback and guidance on essays and assignments. I also like to set out extra homework (not difficult, just based on our sessions) to get back to me at the next meeting so that the student's confidence and grasp on the subjects continues to build and I can see where exactly they need assistance. NB: prior to our meetings, if possible, I would appreciate being sent whatever course work or topics the student is currently doing in class (or the syllabus, in the best case scenario) in order to best maximize my planning and ability to assist.

AgathePrivate lessons in Mathematics-Chemistry-Biology
EPFL master student, I would be happy to help you (you or your child) for subjects where you have difficulties! At the university, I have been an assistant in Chemistry for the first years of EPFL for several years as well as for a course linking mathematics and electronics, called Signals and Systems. So I am used to teaching and explaining concepts to students with difficulties. I also give private lessons to students passing the Swiss Maturity or the French Baccalaureate. To try to see together the difficulties as well as the misunderstandings: we resume the course together, we do an exercise together and then I let the student do it independently and we review together if he is blocked or if it is necessary to correct. I would be delighted to be able to help you in all matters, both scientific and literary! :)

MerlvynChemistry (American Curriculum or Advanced Placement or Pre-IB or IB)
Educational Certificates and Awards Ministry of Education Teaching Scholarship (1998) Graduated from National University of Singapore, Bachelor of Science (2004) Graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (2005) College Board - AP Chemistry (2019) College Board - AP Calculus AB (2019) I have taught in an IBDP independent school for 5 years in Singapore, as well as in an American School offering APs for 5 years in Taiwan. I’m certified to teach in both courses. I was an EE supervisor while in the IBDP school for all 5 years. I was also a Chemistry Olympiad coach when I was at that school, as well as a pioneer teacher for an Accelerated Class for Science, which is a talent development program. Teaching was my first job and I love it. Interacting with students is the greatest joy besides helping them to learn and at the same time enjoy learning. I love Mathematical problems because they are like puzzles. Once I have the keys (concepts or relationships), I just have to figure out how to use them. It's almost like an escape room or jigsaw. Once I figure out how the pieces fit, there is the sense of satisfaction of solving it. Mathematics trains us in being resilient, systematic and logical thinkers and at times, our imagination and creativity. Science on the other hand, teaches us about ourselves and the world around us - how we interact with each other, how we interact with the world and how other objects or living things interact with each other. The joy of discovery keeps me going. It's always fun to discover something new. Of course, I love the experiments too. It never ceases to amaze students when they see how chemical reactions create something new, change in color, gases, light and heat, and how these can be useful in everyday life. It also teaches us to be respectful of natural laws and be good stewards of the earth and its resources. Available times: Summer break (June-July) - Weekday full days, weekends Sat (8am - 12pm, 5pm - 10pm) and Sunday (6pm-10pm). School days (Aug - May) - Weekdays (6:30pm - 10pm), weekends Sat (8am - 12pm, 5pm - 10pm) and Sunday (6pm-10pm).
