This course is designed for children aged 7 - 11 working at a KS2 level needing either support through homework and revising the national curriculum or plainly just to have your child occupy themselves within some of their free time.
Maths, English, R.S & History are all offered upon selection.
Your chosen subject will be taught through a series of well structured lessons, educating Him/Her on the essentials of all topics, identifying and recording some strengths and weaknesses for ensure future progression and set tasks or questions that can be processed thoroughly.

I have over 4 years of experience in teaching and tutoring English as a second language. I am currently a PhD researcher at King’s College London and run this tutoring business on the side, as I enjoy motivating students to learn new skills and overcome challenges.

I have studied English language and literature for all of my academic life and being multi-lingual (Fluent in Dutch and Sinhala), I understand how difficult it is to learn a language as a complete beginner. I am an empathetic and understanding teacher, but I also know how to push your limits and show you what you are capable of.

I aim to make sure students understand material intuitively first before delving into complicated questions and foster a friendly and patient learning environment. Instead of relying on memorising formulas, I teach students how to derive the formulas themselves, build upon their previous knowledge and use them to solve complex questions in a simple way, building their confidence in the process. To facilitate this, I use metaphors and every-day things to construct stories that help students remember concepts and relationships between them.

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, preferences and learning style so I am able to accommodate specific requests. I can help students work on improving both overall understanding of the subject as well as detailed and thorough understanding of specific topics/sub-topics. As someone who sat these exams myself, I know what the most common mistakes in each topic are, the best exam techniques and have lots of tips, tricks and resources I can share!
