Good morning ! I'm Marius.

I am currently a student at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

I spent all my schooling in classes with timetables adapted for music in France. I was even able to replace teachers at the conservatory.
Today, I really want to share my experience, and take a new look at learning music so that everyone can find satisfaction.

Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁
I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,...
After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw!

Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc.

During my training, I had the opportunity to study with famous teachers with whom I was able to discover different violin techniques and different pedagogical approaches, which allowed me to create my own methodology. If Italy gave me the passion of sharing and communication (a typical Italian characteristic), Belgium taught me to convey a message, an idea in a concrete way. My meeting with Mr Lawson also made me aware of the importance in the life of an artist to share his knowledge, and teaching is for me the best way to put this sharing into practice.

My name is Juliette, a young professional violinist who obtained my master's degree at the Brussels Conservatory in 2018 in the class of Shirly Laub. With my experience, I offer violin and music theory lessons. The course method, inspired by the Agostini school (French method used in French and Belgian academies and conservatories) is divided between technique and drums. At the rate of one session each we will focus once on technique and movements outside the drums (on pads) and the other time on the drums and the application of technique and movements.

-> The technique lessons and the movements will be those of the so-called 'Moeller technique' that I learned through his direct lineage of student.
-> The drum lessons are greatly inspired by the pedagogy of the M.A.I. (Music Academy International - Nancy (fr)) and in particular that of Richard-Paul Morellini, renowned instructor.

The courses are complete, in-depth but above all specifically thought of to be progressive. They are suitable for children from 7 years old as well as adults of all ages.

=> Particular attention is paid to the movements and their correct application, to the total independence of the limbs and finally to an understanding of the rhythm and its theory. My main goal is to give the student complete control behind the drums and skills to be able to self-learn any piece in any musical style. 1 hour of weekly lessons are never enough, they should only be used to fuel the passion that will make you play at home more and more.

On demand or for advancs students:
- I am very passionate about the study of South American rhythms. Due to their complexity, apart from the samba and Baïon ostinatos, they are not included in the program before the advanced level. They can be at the request of the student.
- I am also specialized in metal (musical style) and double pedal. The latter is not included in the program unless requested by the student. The double pedal courses are based on the methodology of Virgil Donati.

* Moeller technique (the 'whipping motion' - the Free stroke -Full/Half/Low stroke - accepting the rebound - its application etc.)
* Snare rudiments and their applications through reading systems
* Readings of scores and exercises for the snare drum
