Sivananda Classical Hatha Yoga taught online for now.
From 54 £ /h
I'm a Sivananda Classical Hatha Yoga instructor and teach all levels, beginners, intermediate and advanced levels. Currently teaching back in studio gym/leisure centers or privately online.
A typical open level class includes Relaxation, Pranayama (breathing exercises), warm-ups including Sun Salutations (Surya Namaskar), Single & Double leg raises, 12 Basic asanas (postures), and final deep relaxation. The focus is on mastering the basic asanas from which variations are then added to further deepen the practice. The asanas follow an order that allows for the systematic movement of every major part of the body in a balanced way that enhances prana or life force energy, keeping the mind quiet and without the need to think beyond each individual pose.
I also teach chair yoga which will be different from the above class description but still includes relaxation, breathing exercises and simpler chair-based yoga.

About Me
My journey started at a young age whilst she attended school in India where spiritual practice was an integral part of daily life. After returning to the UK and completing a mathematics degree at University of London, I felt a lack of job satisfaction in the corporate world. I completed a course on Meditation / healing in India where I came to the realisation that I wanted to teach Yoga. Having practised Yoga for 15 years (pranayama and meditation), I went on to become qualified in Sivananda Hatha Yoga in 2010 and did the Advanced Teachers Training Course in 2013. I now teaches traditional and classical form of Hatha Yoga in a variety of settings (currently only online and not at the gyms or leisure centres due to COVID-19) for those looking for work/life balance as well as volunteers at The North London Hospice teaching gentle chair yoga and breathing exercises to patients suffering from Cancer, COPD and various other illnesses.
