I teach from beginner to advanced in Recorder ( to diploma) Piano to Diploma and Clarinet to Grade 8_ I have been teaching for many years and my approach has evolved over the many years that I have been teaching so i can teach most children and adults who are keen to learn a musical instrument and raise their self esteem as i also enter them for grade exams when they are ready and willing, and also provide performance opportunities at a local church for all my students young and old. Exams are not compulsory as they are not exclusively the means of progress, which often comes from inner motivation

This has never been so true as the present day when you can hear what you compose instantly by using computers to generate and play back your own music. However, to ensure that your music sounds really great there are many principles to be considered. I have had a great interest in composing for over 40 years, composing in a wide variety of styles. Having been a music teacher in a comprehensive school for over 30 years, I have had a lot of very relevant experience in teaching composition to a wide range of different ages and abilities. The class will be personalized to your particular standard and chosen style of composition. If you are a complete novice and have not used computers to create music we can use a web-based programme or a free downloadable programme. On the other hand, if you are familiar with a particular programme that you have installed on your computer we can work through screen sharing and sound sharing to enhance your compositions using my experience.
