My three main areas of expertise (not necessarily in this order):

- Chess: I teach chess to beginners and intermediate players up to ELO 1800 or ECF 1700, working on the tactical and strategic aspects of openings, middle games and endgames.. "chess is life in miniature"!

- Fitness / Running / Triathlon: I coach people who want to get fitter and generally incorporate any endurance activity into a health(ier) lifestyle. I am a dedicated coach who has competed in several marathons and Ironman races (also qualified for the Ironman World Championship). I focus on nutrition, stress and sleep as well for a holistic approach.

- Languages: I specialize in tutoring Italian and Spanish; my style is to keep students challenged and motivated through simple classes and practical exercises (pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary).. I'm a demanding teacher but will guide you in a fun and interactive way.

Please contact me if you have any interest in spending more time and energy in any of these 3 areas, and don't forget that "Mens Sana in Corpore Sano" is a good approach to look after yourself :)

I have always loved exchanging and passing on what I have learned. My mother being a German teacher, I have always been immersed in the world of education. I started tutoring when I was in high school, and I still do today.

My journey :
- Mention Very Good at the ES baccalaureate
- Studied Sociology and Political Science at the University of Geneva
- History and Spanish studies at the London School of Economics (LSE), First Class Honours.

I help academically and psychologically students in History-Geography, SES and English. I explain the course in detail (if necessary), and we work on the methodology for each event, the organization and the planning of the work to be done. I can also follow your child in other subjects for the smallest classes.

For example, I worked with two students in great difficulty (general average around 7-8 out of 20), and the latter obtained their baccalaureate, one of them with honors.
I also worked with another student the previous year, who obtained the mention Very Good (with 19/20 in SES).

I offer a range of different dance classes, as well as yoga, stretching, and toning all with the underlying movement of the body. I have been working and teaching in the industry all my life and have worked with those who have no experience at all to those who are considered to be some of the best in their respected fields. I provide an in-depth class that is specifically designed to match the skill level and goals of the students I take on. I can either travel to your exact location or book a space in a venue that may suit you better depending on your space allowance. In these classes, we will go through a range of techniques, learn new skills and mostly have fun. ( I can teach up to three people at a time if you would like to buddy up with friends or family ).

Would you like some low-impact activity to work on strengthening and stretching all the different group muscles? While also easing your thoughts and giving yourself a moment of relax and mindfulness? Then Pilates is for you.
I’m a qualified profession dancer and dance teacher and I can help you stretch and strengthen the core areas of your body with low-impact exercises tailored to your ability. It’s also scientifically proven that exercise also boosts your mood and confidence, so it can definitely be considered an act of self care.

In these neuro-divergent times, the binary division of "one language or two" in bilinguals is perhaps due some contestation, which students are capable of providing. I have always found bilingual production models (and the ubiquitous Powerpoint slide) that university teachers provide a hindrance because of their lack of explicitness and discussion - they are just not relatable as presented nor do they provide much information or examples for monolingual students.

Code-switching, a by-product of bilingualism, is now a term that is even found in minority-ethnic neighbourhood grafitti ("can white people code-switch" a found example). Please note that this is a linguistic term, used for switching between two languages, and not between local or social varieties of English.

My personal position is that there is no such thing as bilingualism: there is always a language that suffers attrition, and one language that prevails, mostly because of its prestigious standing over the other language. On the other hand, a child exposed to more than one language cannot be truly monolingual.

For this course (very popular at universities around Europe both at undergraduate and postgraduate level) we shall go through the terms used to discuss bilingualism, in detail, and then discuss, with the help of published books and articles, who can be considered bilingual (or are we all, one other language lying dormant?). Can bilingualism be defined by the speaker, instead of the "community"? Can it be imposed by the State? Does a bilingual brain function in the same manner as a monolingual brain? These are research questions that emerge as dissertation or thesis topics both at undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

A-Level Sociology is one of the hardest subjects to tackle at A-Level if you are not familiar with memorising an entire compilation of names and theories. I specialise in teaching Sociology and achieved an A* at A-Level with OCR Sociology. In spite of this, I can teach and adapt to other exam boards like AQA, and there is a demand for Sociology tutoring. I currently study at King's College London University, but am free during weekends to tutor.

Thank you for reading.
