Singing for beginners: Come and learn how to sing in a relaxed, fun, and vibrant setting one on one!Translate this text using Google Translate.

About me: I am a graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with a Master's in Musical Theatre Performance. I teach drama, acting, and singing at two different arts academies in Glasgow. I have several years of professional performance-based experience which includes Radio City Music Hall, singing LIVE on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and multiple professional concerts/cabarets. Student experience: Music and singing should be for everyone to enjoy. Together we can focus on technique, repertoire, or simply how to sing healthily for fun. My classroom is a safe space to experiment and grow your love of singing. First lesson: In our first lesson we'll focus on some easy vocal warm-ups/exercises so I can assess your skill level. We'll chat about what you want to work on together. We'll talk about what kind of music you'd like to learn and discuss resources for sheet music and tracks. Moving forward: Acting and characterization are key components in learning to sing, even if just for fun! Enjoying your music choices and identifying why they speak to you will help in growing your vocal range. Moving forward together we'll focus on your skill level and reaching each vocal goal you have.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and goals. Children (7–12 years old) For younger students, lessons focus on building confidence while making learning fun. We begin with simple vocal warm-ups and ear training to develop pitch and intonation, then move on to singing their favourite songs, encouraging good vocal habits in an enjoyable way. Teenagers (12-17 years old) With teenage students, we start with more structured vocal warm-ups and exercises. As we discover their natural voice, we work on developing a comfortable vocal range, improving technique, and applying these skills through songs that suit their voice and interests. Adults and seniors (18+) For adult students, lessons are usually divided into two parts. We begin with vocal technique, focusing on breathing, diaphragm support, scales, arpeggios, and intonation. We then apply these techniques through singing, helping you develop confidence, control, and healthy vocal habits. I will give you repertoire to study or we will study the pieces you have to prepare. The final goal will be to sing on a musical accompaniment. Every student learns at a different pace. Some may spend more time building a solid technical foundation before moving on to more challenging repertoire, and that’s perfectly fine. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their vocal journey. I teach children, teenagers, and adults and seniors from complete beginners to advanced singers. My classical training provides a strong technical foundation that can be applied to any musical style, whether you enjoy pop, musical theatre, jazz, rock, or classical singing. Whatever your age or experience, I’d love to help you discover and develop your voice. Let’s sing!

As someone who loves singing it was very helpful in the very first lesson to begin to understand the muscles I need to use and the "spaces" I need to create to stabilise and improve my sound. I also felt she responded well to each question I raised, or issue she heard in the way I did the excercises. I look forward to future lessons.

Maria is an awsome teacher with a great singing technique and a gorgeous voice! I highly recomend her. After only 1 lesson, I could see a big progress in my voice. She is very well prepared for the lesson, kind, charming with great energy. She is very enthusiastic and passionate about singing and teaching.
