Nathan has been playing Guitar and studying Music for over 15 years, from Primary School right through to the current day in University. Beginning just under a year ago, Nathan has thoroughly enjoyed passing on his enthusiasm and passion for Guitar and Music alike through tutoring. Nathan has several qualifications in Music, including GCSE, A Level and First Class honours in Musical Arts (BA) and, starting with a Masters, he hopes to add to these qualifications in the future. Nathan’s teaching style revolves around his students and therefore adapts to the different students he is teaching, considering their skill level, age and personality when approaching each lesson. Alongside teaching, Nathan is hugely passionate about playing in his Function Band, recording and mixing songs and of course listening to music almost none stop. Nathan teaches Guitar from beginners to intermediate level players and teaches Music Theory up to grade 5 of all ages. Nathan’s lessons include breaking down the fundamentals of both guitar ad theory, from posture, fingering technique, scales, arpeggios, chords, rhythm, melody and anything else the student wishes to learn. He will teach any exam boards requested, preparing his students for their respective exams by breaking down each technical component previously mentioned with specific focus given to each section of the exam. Whether the student wishes to focus on melody, rhythm, chords or just playing their favourite band’s songs, he will devote all his energy to providing the required tutoring in helping his students fulfil these wishes, whilst enjoying themselves in the process. Nathan will give his all to teaching as many genres as he possibly can, although has vast experience in classical and pop music, particularly Funk, Rock and Jazz. His first lesson with any student will be relaxed, with the aim of figuring out the students skill level and what they wish to achieve through their lessons. The student simply needs to let Nathan know their priorities in terms of what they wish to learn and their enthusiasm in achieving this. It is common for Nathan to prepare warm-up exercises for his students, such as stretching exercises for the wrists and hands, along with exercises to develop the technique of each hand, for example finger/plectrum exercises and chromatic scales.

Hi, I am Fausto. I am an Italian musician, trained in the classical guitar. I have been studying guitar since the age of fifteen at the conservatory in Sicily. I finished my degree at the BENEDETTO MARCELLO conservatory in Venice. I compose my own music in the classical style with the guitar. Within the genre of classical music I play, for example, Bach and Giuliani. As an electrical guitarist, I am used to playing with the fender sound, blues, and jazz. I offer lessons for people who would like a start in the guitar world. I enjoy teaching all ages and I am open to see what and how you would like to learn. We can learn the technical way or be more open with playing. For example with children, I am used to teaching with the book from the composer Sagreras. I teach classical guitar up to grade 7. The purpose of this course is to bring students closer to a conservatory experience, where learning is not limited to "how-to" tutorials and lectures. Through a series of lessons customised according to your needs, assignments, and working with me on tasks, you will develop a great load of skills in classical guitar performance as well as a deep understanding of the classical guitar repertoire. I focus on the western classical guitar repertoire from Renaissance to the 21st century (for example works of Dowland, Narvaez, Bach, Giuliani, Scarlatti, Carcassi, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos, Brouwer, Koshkin etc). Not only will we focus on the technical aspects of playing the guitar, but we will also analyse and use tools of music theory in order for you to deeply understand and be able to demonstrate your personal character in your performance.

I currently offer teaching and mentoring in the following areas: - Music/Audio Production - Guitar Performance - Music Theory My methods are generally adapted to each individual’s needs and objectives, however, they do not include classical music training approaches, such as sight reading or formal classical music training. Instead, my approach focuses on developing an intuitive understanding of music, through understanding elements such as intervalic structures, mathematical permutations, analogies derived from other disciplines etc. The ultimate goal of my approach is to allow the individual to form a way of thinking, which will allow she/he to compose, produce or play ANY type of music.

I teach both electric and acoustic guitar to all ages and abilities and teach multiple genres specialising in: Blues, Jazz, Rock, Indie, Pop, Funk and Soul. I have both a Masters Degree and an Undergraduate degree in music and have worked as a professional gigging musician since graduating. I received jazz guitar tuition throughout my university education from accomplished tutors including Jamie Taylor and Ulrich Elbracht and have gone on to play jazz guitar professionally for a number of artists and groups as well as having weekly residencies at the Domino Club and Sela Bar. I have played jazz guitar alongside artists including John Surman and Jean Toussaint at prestigious events such as Montreux Jazz Festival. I have played guitar at a very high professional level for both function and commercial bands as well as in original rock, pop, soul and funk bands. Through doing this I have played for large audiences at venues and festivals including Boomtown, The Hootananny (Brixton), The ICC (Birmingham) and many others. I have also had music I have written, produced and played guitar, bass and keys on featured on radio stations such as BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, Rock Current and many local and regional stations.
