I am Australian and live in Italy. I am a Harpist, Composer and arranger, with many years experience playing concerts, solo and in groups ; events, and theater work. My teaching experience is mainly with adult beginners and intermediate, and classical students , or players who want to explore jazz and improvvisation. My focus in teaching is to empower and inspire the student at what ever level they feel they are at. I like to help students arrive at their own goals , and persue their own chosen style , and repertoire whilst, suggesting new and perhaps alternatives in both approach and repertoire to expand musical horizons. For harpists the basis of technique is classical, believing in a strong technical base , whilst the approach of choosing and finding repertoire is non classical. I like to give the opportunity to alternate with music learned off the page with learning by ear. My specialty is improvisation, both structured and free and am available to teach improvisation, and music in English to not only harpists but to any musicians who already play and may like to explore improv. and help with english lyrics, terminology, and theory. I am also able to help musicians to arrange music for their instrument in the context of duos and trios for example strings with harp, or composers wishing to write for harp.

Trusted teacher: My name is Malwina. I am a Polish vocalist, composer and educator who specializes in Jazz and creative contemporary music, Pop, R&B. I've graduated from the prestigious Berklee Global Jazz Institute in Boston, where I was mentored by Terri Lyne Carrington, Danilo Pérez and John Patitucci among others. I made appearances across the US and Canada, China, Europe and South America. Most recently, I performed at Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola as a member of Berklee Global Jazz Ambassadors ensemble, led by John Pattitucci. I also performed at Birdland, Rockwood Music Hall, Ryles Jazz Club, Scullers Jazz Club, Regatta Bar, Cornelia St. Café and Smalls. My main goal for my students is to impart to them a deeper understanding of vocal technique, and implementing that technique into any genre of singing they choose. I want to find my student’s talents, musical tastes, unique voice, skills, learning style, and personality, to help them grow into complete musician. I teach my students to sing in a healthy and consistent manner. Along with these principles, I create a vocal exercises tailored to each student's needs. I focus on empowering and inspiring my students to be true to their sound and artistry; the ultimate goal is to help them find their own voice. Aside from wanting my students to have good vocal technique, I want them to come out with good musicianship skills. I want them to be able to count off tunes and know when to come in on the tune. I always make them count things off for me in the lessons so they'll learn to be direct with their band or their accompanist.

In my guitar lessons you will learn the basics of playing this instrument. You will learn to play traditional Rock and Pop songs and riffs, or Jazz songs as Standard or modern songs. You will learn scales and arpeggios that will be absolutely important for you to get closer to the concept of improvisation. Yes, you will learn how to improvise and write your own music! For the more "advanced" we will go deeper into topics, such as the technique of the instrument, improvisation, the development of the melodic and rhythmic sense or your original compositions. Together we will learn songs and delve into music theory to put it in a practical way. I will share with you my approach for writing music and developing creativity. But most of all, regardless of your level, you will have fun! I am looking forward to see you!
