About Me
Health and fitness features prominently in my life. I exercise regularly and compete in local and regional trail running events when possible. I enjoy cooking nutritious recipes that support optimised health and performance. As one of two nutritionists for the England National Football Team during the 2009/10 season in preparation for the World Cup in South Africa, I designed health and wellness student programmes specific to their sporting and academic needs.
Having been a guest speaker at the National Schools Independent Sports Conference, (ISFA) on the topic of Sports Nutrition for Football. I enjoy presenting to groups, schools and clubs on the topic of nutrition for peak performance and personal wellbeing.I also find it hugely rewarding presenting at school assemblies and PSHE sessions on this topic.
I enjoy trekking and have participated in the 15 Peak Challenge, Snowdonia, Wales. I have trekked to Mount Everest Base Camp raising considerable funds for the Motor Neuron Disease Society, a charity very dear to me. Having also trekked the Andes in South America, I have led groups of students on residential trips to Snowdonia as part of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme as well as many overseas sporting tours throughout Europe.
I enjoy strength and conditioning training, cold water thermogenesis and intermittent fasting as a means to enhance health and potentiate longevity. Overseas travel has always been a feature of my life; such as visiting the mountainous region of Vietnam or the highlands of Bolivia.
I have a nine year-old daughter and a six-year-old son and enjoy spending quality time with them. My partner and I actively engage in interesting activities and experiences in order to widen our personal horizons and promote positive learning.
I am an avid podcast listener and enjoy the varied and diverse nature this style of platform provides. Music is a passion, notably live performances.
