Having studied English Language and English Literature as a compulsory aspect of the GCSE curriculum, I discovered a way to enjoy what I studied, and in doing so, I learnt how to achieve top grades. I ended up with a grade 9 (A*) in GCSE Literature, and a grade 8 (A*) in GCSE Language (references are available upon request)! Currently in my last year of sixth form, I am able to help with English Literature up to the AS-Level. During the AS exam, the highest grade possible to achieve by the end of year 12 was an A, which I had received on results day. I have got a firm understanding of the structure of essays, and how to incorporate quotation from the books, plays and poems a student would study, and how to analyse them in a way that displays a student’s articulation and understanding. Having worked for a tutoring company for a year, I have gained experience with tutoring from ages as young as 3 up to 16. I have acquired patience and the ability to target and understand a student’s weakness and how to combat and strengthen it. Contrary to popular belief, learning Latin is not like learning the phone book by heart. I offer you Latin lessons that are unlike any other. There are two types of courses. Here is an analogy to illustrate their respective approaches: If you take the train back and forth every day and don't have time to wait long at the platform, imagine that you only have two options: 1) Learn the schedules by heart. 2) Note that the train arrives every ten minutes and that a train arrives for example at 7:00 a.m. In school pedagogy, in study notebooks and in ordinary courses, it is the first approach which is adopted - in the courses that I offer you, it is the second because it is more economical and faster. My offer is aimed at both students and adults who want to learn the Latin language or deepen their knowledge without time-consuming detours through the insanities of school methods which do not produce results. Learning is easy but unlearning what has become a bad habit is extremely difficult. All the more important it is to learn the right reflexes as early as possible. With my tailor-made teaching you will accelerate your learning in a positive state of mind. I offer individual or group Latin lessons (2 to 5 people). The methods are based on cognitive sciences and in particular historical linguistics.
